I dont know why, seen an advert for one and they just look so calm, with snacks and drinks and newspapers

I'd just like to go to one then fly off somewhere gorgeous

its not too much to ask, is it?

But it's free and all the snacks, fruit and drinks (to say nothing of the free help yourself bar) is great when you are a family with kids.

Sadly, I don't think this computer programmer's business trips will ever stretch to this!

Upthechminey- BA gives you a choice of 5 or 6 usually on the ground. If you. LPGS is the best one and only in the CCR but if flying 1st you can go into galleries 1st where there is a help yourself champagne bar. On the plane there are usually 3 choices plus a pink.

a Lesser known airport quiet spot....they often have chapels to pray the plane works. No one there.
No booze or peanuts, but peeeeeeeacefuuuulll.

Yellow tulips- you can usually pay to take extra guests into the clubhouse. £65 for an adult but I think less for a child and I have seen them waive it a few times.

am so jealous of everyone here who has been in these fantastic lounges Envy

Once flew Air India first class to New York 9 years ago (there were no seats for us on our (bargain priced seats) economy Kuwait Airlines flight & we were bumped off).
DH, myself & 2 DS's (18 & 14) went to the First Class lounge but were a bit clueless to be honest, but we did have a drink & a snack, but were thrilled to be in a 12 seat cabin & served drinks before the plane even left the gate.
Don't think we will ever have that experience again, DH & I at least, although DS's may well be into careers where it may happen for them, at least in Business class!

Ali, we went twice last year, in the al reem one, it was ever so quiet and enjoyable,

They have 3 lounges there, the basic one, then the al reem and then business/1st,

Ah sorry UptheChimney, did not read properly. Have never done a paid for lounge that has a spa attached.

Nice nod to FlyerTalk, Wink that and HeadforPoints must be the two most visited websites in this house.
