To think Mumsnet is mainly south of the border members?

I've been on Mumsnet for about 8 years and I've seen so few posters who say they are Scottish, and none whatsoever in my area (just outside Glasgow).

I've been on the local group (which is dead). It would be great to meet someone near me as I'm bloody lonely. I tried the meet a mum on the other mums website, that's dead too.

You'd think there were no mums in the west coast of Scotland or maybe they are all part of some super amazing website / group that I've yet to hear of!

Scottish mummies, where are you???

Putty · 26/03/2015 13:45

Embra here!

^There's no need for education threads in Scotland.
Give them a sandwich. Send them to school. The end.^

MorrisZapp, I like your style! Grin I live nearby. I probably know you. :stalker:

Nobbynobs, I read your post wrong and thought you said one mum asked for a FAG!

Love the idea of Mawsnet. With special wee scottish smileys. Or not.

PacificDogwood · 26/03/2015 17:08

We could organise a Lanarkshire meet-up, North and South Grin

Christinayangstwistedsister · 26/03/2015 17:38

Hands across that water brother, hands across the water (from that great Scottish literary genius..... Rab C Nesbitt)

Reception is not the equivalent of nursery. The children wear uniform, they attend all day, it's compulsory, they begin formal phonics and maths programmes etc. It is equivalent to primary one here. I'm a teacher, and when I've taught primary one in the past I've often linked up with reception resources.

ovaryhill · 28/03/2015 18:19

I'm near Inverness and quite happy to meet for a coffee if anyone fancies it

WeePoppy · 28/03/2015 18:35

Another Fifer here Grin

HeartShapedBox · 28/03/2015 20:57

Frankie80 it's a possibility - what high school did you go to?

CH, SPTA/ ST.C (depending on age) BH OR ST.A (both also depending on age)...
It's a small town, good chance that if we don't, we at least know some of the same people Smile

From Cambuslang outside Glasgow, spent most of my twenties in Aberdeen and lived very far down south since 2007. Agree with all that's been said about Scottish education I really missed my DD P1 class when we moved. She went straight into year 2 it was a big culture change

AmIthatHot · 28/03/2015 22:07

I can't believe now many MNers from Fife.

I'm from Perth Nd I often meet people through work and wonder if they are mum setters Grin

glasgowlass · 28/03/2015 22:27

emilyharrymum I'm in Eastfield!

emilyharrymum · 28/03/2015 22:36

Small world glasgowlass my grandpa was brought up in Eastfield. Going home to Scotland next week can't wait!

OllyBJolly · 28/03/2015 22:44

When you think population of London is more than population of Scotland, I'm surprised at how many Scots are on here. I see it that there is a good representation from London and Scotland, but not so good for elsewhere in UK.

glasgowlass · 28/03/2015 22:49

We've not long moved here. We were in Rutherglen & Kings Park before. It's dead quiet here! Love it!
Enjoy your trip home. I'd have Frankie Miller - Caledonia, belting out my speakers as I crossed the border! Grin

LaLaLaaaa · 29/03/2015 08:20

I'm from Edinburgh and living in Sussex just now. Moving back up in a year or two after I've had this baby and going to have to try and buy somewhere in decent catchment. It's already on my mind even though it's ages away because I worked with schools previously in Scotland and know what a difference there can be.

Going to live so we here just outside the burgh, possibly west or east lothians. I was living in Musselburgh before we left.

Love chatting to scots on here because I'm so homesick! We go back about once a year
