To not want to work for 5p over minimum wage?

I went for an interview for a part-time retail job. The work would be fab, interesting and helpful and sociable, but the pay is £6.75 an hour - 5p above minimum wage.

AIBU to be put off by this?!

INeedABumChange that is quite dismissive of retail workers. I take it you would be happy to let the op and the rest of us into your secret. Was it a cosmetic counter in a department store? I only ask as my sil makes a good living as a Dior consultant.

I work in retail because it suits my family life and I like working the pay is awful compared to my pre child job (more than half) however it is nowhere near as stressful.

I do object to the fact that it isn't hard or skilled. Customers are very tricky and the job can be pretty physical.

No harm in giving it a go.
