Arse I had a thread started about me as well, under a previous name of mine.
Apparently I was raising a posse or something.
MNHQ had to investigate all my PM's and confirm I was doing nothing of the sort, and they deleted the thread. Weirdly, I'd posted in support of the OP who went on to start the thread about me, so I'm not sure how it went so wrong so quickly, but my previous posts and DH's job were dragged up as proof of me being a terrible person.
It was all a bit shit because of the publicness of it, and I left MN for a few months because I just felt completely fed up every time I logged in. I did speak to the person who started the thread first, and we called a kind of truce, but it still felt very crap to be so publicly vilified and I was better for some time away.
Just to go back to the point of the thread, MNHQ have said upthread that Derek is temporarily suspended, so hopefully she will be reinstated soon as the word temporarily implies she will be.
I am another person who confused her previous NN with SB, although I hadn't realised SB had been banned or what for. I never really believed half of what SB said, so just kept out of her way, but I did see Derek as Derek and as SP, and thought she had toned things down a bit. Now I realise the 'change' was because she wasn't SB at all and I'm not sure why I thought they were the same person really, but it seems to have been a widespread misunderstanding.
Plus, if I see someone talking to another Alice on here I have to double check it's not me. If I can confuse my own name it's no wonder I muddle up someone else's.
Sounds like Derek is having a hard time of things with regards to the hacking/stalking, so I wish her well with that. Hopefully she will be back sooner or later, even if under yet another name to protect her identity from whoever it is causing her this trouble.
