Dino, it's being a goady fucker because it was a PA post, written to attempt to rile Psipsina, and drag it all up again. It added nothing to the thread, it was posted purely to antagonise.

The very definition of a goady fucker.

But carry on being disingenuous Makes no difference to me.

Arsenic · 23/03/2015 17:02

There's a lot of it about Dixie

Psipsina · 23/03/2015 17:03

How's it meant to antagonise me? Seriously can someone explain? Because it failed to spectacularly and the flowers were lovely.

disingenuous Grin

And what do you think your post 'added to the thread' other than to goad and stir?

pot. kettle.

JustDrivingHome · 23/03/2015 17:05

Tbf, Psipsina, you'd have to 'know' the poster, and infer the tone in which it was (in all likelihood) posted.

JustDrivingHome · 23/03/2015 17:06

My post, Dino?

It highlighted a goady fucker. And since there had been some disagreement as to what a GF might be, earlier in the thread, en it could be viewed as a public Service Announcement.

That is all.

Psipsina · 23/03/2015 17:07

Oh.

ItsAllKickingOffPru · 23/03/2015 17:07

Yes, I read that thanks, Arsenic. It's what I was referring to. I would be Oh gives a fuck about your skewed perceptions and just get on with the thread.
I do appreciate where we are in our heads, what's going on in rl, how we see our place on MN and external factors that make us feel a bit more raw and likely to snap come into play, however.

One post without a NC looks pretty tame compared to what's become standard practice recently.

Well, in the spirit of MN, I have dragged the kids home from school, and I'm eating curry. Reduced curry, no less!

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 23/03/2015 17:09

I wonder what MNHQ actually think. do they ever take sides as the drama unfolds?
I wonder if they ever say "Guidelines that way blah blah" but then think "fucking goady fucker, stop winding people up or say something I can actually ban you for right now"

I wonder if they actually agree with the people who get wound up and secretly root for them on this screen panto "go, leave now before you say something really bad, watch out, behind you, duck, run, hide please!"

only they can't say it. ever.

no wonder they guzzle a lot of ginSad

Arsenic · 23/03/2015 17:09

Well why are you asking me 'why that thread' then Pru?

Anyone, with those factors, could fail to walk away and react couldn't they?

I'm not Derek. I don't know why? Hmm

Doesn't that fit your definition of a goady fucker post perfectly?

SpinDoctorOfAethelred · 23/03/2015 17:13

I've actially always wondered about the gin. I think it's all a lie*. I think they actually drink cocktails and lager.

*The cake isn't a lie.

ItsAllKickingOffPru · 23/03/2015 17:13
Confused

I wasn't asking you why, Arsenic. I was clarifying which thread I meant.

The point is, rise to goading if you want but accept if you've crossed the line re Talk Guidelines. Personally, I wouldn't give anyone the satisfaction, no matter how tired/fed up/drunk I was.

DinoMight · 23/03/2015 17:14

I think they do just that, but can't do a thing without reporting. Happened to me some years ago, the goader was a slippery little fucker and I knew what they were at but didn't think anything was reportable standalone IYSWIM. all the time HQ were watching unable to do anything about her.

Suspending someone is probably their way of making someone back off, Zing.
It's used on lots of forums, large and small. Maybe Derek's come across that tactic before, maybe not. Still, she'll know next time.

Arsenic · 23/03/2015 17:16

I'm confused

SpinDoctorOfAethelred · 23/03/2015 17:20

Oh, and I now genuinely feel sorry for Psipsina. Okay, you think I'm being a GF, driving? You're entitled to that opinion. But what puzzles me is your reaction.

Why not say, "leave off Psipsina" if you wanted to say something on thread? You've just made a chain of oblique posts instead. If you didn't want to be upfront about it, then you could have PMed her to give her your support, which would have made it seem like you were generally concerned for her. But instead, it looks like you have used her as a tool to make a ruck.

Psipsina · 23/03/2015 17:28

Why are you sorry for me, and were you trying to antagonise me before?

SpinDoctorOfAethelred · 23/03/2015 17:31

Suspending someone is probably their way of making someone back off, Zing.

The problem is, that we have this reoccurring problem of MNHQ suspending without sending a sodding email. I'm sure this has happened before. Certain of it. Someone finds they can't log in and has no idea whether they've been banned for posts they made, had their details phished and been banned for spam posts about viagra, or their ex bessie mate stole their details and posted threads about poo in St Pancras station, causing the ban, or whether their laptop needs cookies reinstalling, MN is down in general, or MNTech is employing strike action to get a pay rise.

Or lots of other possible explanations.

JustDrivingHome · 23/03/2015 17:32

I do think that, Aethelred, and I know I am entitled to my opinion.

I don't tend to PM people I don't know. It always feels a bit odd to me when I get a PM from someone who doesn't know me from Adam, and so I don't do it myself.

Why did I post?

Because I do tend to call posters out. On thread, in an upfront manner. Always have done. And, as I explained earlier, this thread took a detour through 'what is a GF?' and it stuck in my mind as I got to your post, so I posted. What an odd question. Posters post because they have something to add.

Do you deny you were being a goady fucker, then?
