A - because it takes up less room, much neater looking than B and hanging against the wall will act as brake, so less pooling on the ground!

Forget the reasons - I'm just correct Grin and I will continue to help those who appear to have got it wrong and turn it around - I'm helpful like that Grin

emotionsecho · 22/03/2015 13:16

It's B, the toilet roll needs to offer itself to you not skulk and hide away against the wall.

EveDallas · 22/03/2015 13:17

B. Because otherwise if you buy patterned toilet paper then the hanging down bit doesn't show the pattern.

(Not that I buy patterned toilet paper, but it's the same idea as my kitchen roll holder, and that does tend to be patterned)

reni1 · 22/03/2015 13:21

B is right of course. B does have one downfall: if you have a toddler in the house, they might discover that B allows you to stick the end of the paper into the loo without tearing it off. If you then flush, roll will unravel down the pipes, spectacular whilst it is going and it ends in a huge flood. Very satisfying for said toddler. Happened in our house, it was both hysterically funny and extremely annoying.

sticklebrickstickle · 22/03/2015 13:32

I'm not really bothered but when put the toilet roll on I choose A. It just looks neater running against the wall...

Alisvolatpropiis · 22/03/2015 13:33

B! It is obviously B!

Yanbu!

Totality22 · 22/03/2015 13:34

I always change the loo roll and I tend to do it differently every time? So I'm an A and a B!!!!!

bigbuttons · 22/03/2015 13:35

I just checked mine. Seems I'm the only A here! It looks tidier imo.

It's supposed to be B because if you get condensation on your bathroom walls then the loose end sticks to the wall and gets wet if you do A. You've never been poor (and lived in rubbish damp shared rented houses) if you don't understand this.

Also why would you put the end you need to grab at the back where you can't see it?

Also why would you marry someone who doesn't understand this? Remove the holder from the wall and try using an upright kitchen roll holder instead, tucking the end just into the middle to stop it unravelling.

OR, depending on how annoyed you are, take all the toilet roll away and just carry your own with you in your pocket.

Morgan · 22/03/2015 13:37

Do not back down it is always B - I change it at work too Smile

catsofa · 22/03/2015 13:37

Euphemia that ironing board is going to fall over.

Actually this is trivial in comparison to the way cutlery should be ordered. If that's wrong it sends me into a mini rage!

DuchessofBuffonia · 22/03/2015 13:39

A for me. I didn't realise I was such a minority! It just looks neater and pulls easier.

youarekiddingme · 22/03/2015 13:42

B Grin

I am ashamed to admit I was an A for many years. No idea why - but I learnt soon enough it's B.

Sallyingforth · 22/03/2015 13:44

All this fuss about the toilet paper, when you should be talking about the real issue...

Seat UP or DOWN :)

Coumarin · 22/03/2015 13:45

Seeing A genuinely makes me feel slight ill. Grin

It's always A in tiny little cafe toilets isn't it? Why is that?

TelephoneIgnoringMachine · 22/03/2015 13:48

I'm a B. DH is a "couldn't care less" but he occasionally does this!

WeirdCatLady · 22/03/2015 13:48

B every time. Always. Luckily DH doesn't care, not sure I could have lived with an A person Grin

LaChatte · 22/03/2015 13:48

I'm all for B, however due to cat issues, we have to abide by A.

TheDetective · 22/03/2015 13:52

I'm a 'don't have a loo roll holder so it sits on top of the loo looking all ugly' kinda person! Grin

I have had 2 toilet roll holders in the time I have lived in my house (7 years). Both fell off the wall within a year of being put up. One was put up by the previous owner, and the other by me. Therefore I am declaring the wall can't hack it!

So shitty option C for me!

But I'd be a B if I had one still...

BolshierAyraStark · 22/03/2015 13:55

B of course, no doubt about it.

I didn't think I cared about this (having shared a house with BFF for over 10 years)...and then I moved in with DH. Apparently, it's because BFF is also normal and puts hers the correct way round (which is B, as per the patent)

The first act was training him to actually replace the roll, rather than sitting it on top of the empty cardboard tube. That has been mostly completed.

Then it was on to the whole "YOU'VE PUT THE BASTARD TOILET ROLL ON BACKWARDS YOU BASTARDING BASTARD" shout from the loo. That has been completed - except for those occasions when he's in a mard with me when he deliberately puts it the wrong way round.

Next training act is "the cardboard tube goes in the bin/recycling" rather than being slotted over the handle of the loo brush. FFS, I'd rather he leave it on the bloody floor/radiator than put it onto the loo brush (because he has to actively reach over the bin to do that, whereas if he just dropped it, I could put it down to him being a lazy git and that's fine).

TwinkleThis · 22/03/2015 13:58

Cafés and restaurants often use A to make it more difficult to access so they save on costs.

To those choosing A for aesthetic purposes, I would gently suggest that absolutely no one spends time appre airing such neatness. Some might even find it in inviting.

A B-method placement clearly says 'welcome'.
