People that everyone knows on mumsnet. Do you remember posters names?

OP posts:
Salmotrutta · 20/03/2015 23:07

I know LeQueen had to NC but I miss seeing her around.

I'm crap at deducing namechanges and I suspect she has changed her posts a bit to stay anonymous.

HoneySwampDragonInMourning · 20/03/2015 23:07

Love the new dress SDTG, Smile wish you didn't have to wear it though Sad

BitOfFun · 20/03/2015 23:10

I'm quite good at spotting people when they namechange. Some of the ones mentioned here are still around.

Stratter5 · 20/03/2015 23:10

I've decided to NC back after being chased off the boards by religious zealots.

Yay!

And for those who don't know they weren't MN zealots.

They were litigious fuck nuts.
and that's the polite version

Samcro · 20/03/2015 23:13

nc is good is some *** have decided you are worthy of hounding

Samcro · 20/03/2015 23:14

ahh bit will bitofun work me out??

Bambambini · 20/03/2015 23:17

But LeQueen nc's to something like Lequeenofthedamned or such. Think she'd be easy to spot. Just need a bleddy, grammar school or Steiner reference.

JuliaDream · 20/03/2015 23:22

"I've seen outingof Nchangers go a bit wrong though grin"

Like Bupcakes namechanging to talk about her itchy fanny or such - but it didn't change! Arf!

bumbleymummy · 20/03/2015 23:34

"

Unless people don't 'like' you. Then it's ok.

Samcro · 20/03/2015 23:44

ahh then I hut the down and throw eggs at them

Samcro · 20/03/2015 23:45

HildaWazzo · 20/03/2015 23:51

I'm a long-time lurker and occasional poster, have recently namechanged due to having posted a lot of embarrassing and identifying details under my old name! I reckon I'd still be fairly anonymous really but didn't want anyone being able to search my old posts.

I recognise most of the posters already mentioned. No one's mentioned oldgrandmama yet though. I love her, I want to be her when I grow up Grin

CheerfulYank · 21/03/2015 00:11

Yes that was me Bambam! :o

I'm still not over it. Wink

Nicola19 · 21/03/2015 00:18

Don't think anyone's mentioned Hollyberrybush!!

I love mrs terry pratchett, mrs winnibago, Doinmecleaning, Woowooowl, bowlersarm and gordy.

Love it when Macdoodle comes on!

I've been here so long I remember Xenia's original name...and I never appear on these famous lists...

am quite proud of that actually

I miss sm and laqueen

CheerfulYank · 21/03/2015 00:32

I loved LaQueen and always have. If she's lurking, PM me would ya? :)

Bambambini · 21/03/2015 00:40

Cheerfulyank - how did you find Mn and what do you think about it? Is there a yank equivalent I can have a look at?

voddiekeepsmesane · 21/03/2015 00:55

I had a baptism of fire in 2007 when I came on and offended Cod. I was under a different name but boy did she chew me one then dutifully spat me out Smile

CheerfulYank · 21/03/2015 02:38

I stumbled upon it looking up a news article some years ago...maybe 09? And then I saw someone asking a question about celiac disease (which I have) and hadn't been answered. I made up a username to answer and...I just stayed. :)

I was fascinated by England when I was little. (My dad read me lots of Roald Dahl and James Herriot.) It was so much the same with the language, but so different at the same time. A queen! Mum instead of mom! My seven year old mind boggled. :o

So I guess in some ways I was still interested. Am still interested. :) As to what I think of it...well, I love it. There's always something to think about, always something to laugh about. It's funny because I understand so many UK phrases that most Americans wouldn't, now. And sometimes I can do things like see a children's book and something about it (the pictures or something, I can't explain it) will immediately tip me off that it was originally published in the UK. (Obviously a word like mum or flannel would make it clear, but before that :) )

It's made me feel more American in a lot of ways, though, whenever I try to explain why we do the things we do.

There are sites like Baby Center but they're not the same as here.
