OH yes Johnny BODEN you fucker. We don't run out of summer stock in March.

rubs hands in preparation
( thinks back to buying some Limited edition Cage shoes at 3am once)

Whats the best out of stock moment youve ever had?

OP posts:
snowglobemouse · 16/03/2015 09:30

improbablesaint · 16/03/2015 09:32

I am STALKING something out of stock

OP posts:
LongDistanceLove · 16/03/2015 09:34

So you are waiting for something to come back into stock?

Righteo, have fun.

Kerberos · 16/03/2015 09:39

I agree with snowglobe and would like to add my own eh? too

Even with a second post I'm still baffled!

snowglobemouse · 16/03/2015 09:41

oh right

Confused
26Point2Miles · 16/03/2015 09:42

shops are entitled to run out of stock. yes it does happen, its life!

JimmyCorkhill · 16/03/2015 09:43

Good luck. May the force be with you. I got DD1 a Disney Store Elsa doll by stalking the website for a month twice a day was she grateful? I'll let you decide!

Morelikeguidelines · 16/03/2015 09:45

Boden often have one left if you ring up.

TapDancingPimp · 16/03/2015 09:46

I suppose my most recent out of stock success story (and it gave me great pleasure) was reserving that bastard Elsa doll.

Complete fluke moment when I checked online stock levels at 6am and reserved...granted I had to travel 20 miles to collect it but still.

TapDancingPimp · 16/03/2015 09:47

jimmy Elsa hasn't been played with since December in this house Hmm.

JimmyCorkhill · 16/03/2015 09:58

Ungrateful madams eh?!!

ScotsWhaHae · 16/03/2015 10:01

I do like the hunt!

improbablesaint · 16/03/2015 10:08

oh yes well, stalking something and then it being a flop is a huge disappointment obv

OP posts:
26Point2Miles · 16/03/2015 10:09

if its Boden then assume it will be a disapointment

WeirdCatLady · 16/03/2015 10:11

When dd was younger I used to thoroughly enjoy autumn as my time to hunt down elusive tat for christmas. One monster high doll she fancied was supposed to be available in the UK but, despite a daily hunt, it never arrived. so I had it shipped from ToysRUs in the US. Because I wasn't going to be beaten

Lloydgeorge · 16/03/2015 10:12

What about their American site?

PatterofaMinion · 16/03/2015 10:15

Grin I needed a bosch cordless drill with the best reviews and they were OOS EVERYWHERE, except Screwfix Chessington had 19 of the fuckers.

19! Haorders!

I rang up and the guy was excellent and said his daughter worked near me, which is like 75 miles away, but then realised he wasn't seeing her for a while so he agreed to post it to me.

Bloody awesome. I love screwfixs.

what is it you are after on the Boden

improbablesaint · 16/03/2015 10:30

i am NOT Sure I can tell you, in case there ARE 16 of them somewhere!

OP posts:
improbablesaint · 16/03/2015 10:30

h once queued up outside a toy store to get an elusive Bey Blade on Xmas sodding eve

OP posts:
PatterofaMinion · 16/03/2015 10:41

LOL beyblades are those ones they instantly ditch aren't they

I did order Lego Exoforce from the US&A after ds insisted it was very special. It's not.

seaoflove · 16/03/2015 10:44

I know what you mean OP: I like a challenge, the thrill of the chase...

AugustaGloop · 16/03/2015 10:55

I get this sometimes. There was a Christmas jumper I really wanted to get for my nephew from Fatface kids. He wanted a "cool" Christmas jumper (age 12) and it was the only one I could fine for a price I was prepared to pay that I thought a 12 year old boy would happily wear. Out of stock online in his size. DH tried 3 fatfaces with kids dept that were in reach and I contacted them direct to ask. No joy after weeks of rechecking. I got him one from the menswear dept in another shop in the end which he seemed to really like but i just wasn't happy with the purchase and know he would have loved the other one.
DD got a pair of shorts that she loved when we were on hols in America once. She has now outgrown them and is sad about it. I regularly check ebay (here and the US) for them in a bigger size, and also check the website for the shop in case they repeat them this year. No joy as yet..

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 16/03/2015 10:56

I planned on getting married in jeans, but my mum and nan insisted they wanted to buy me a dress. I didn't want a big white wedding dress so we compromised on a lovely evening/party type dress (can you tell I don't do fashion Grin.

The only dress I'd ever seen that I thought was nice enough to wear and suited my taste was seen in a catalogue my nan had about three years earlier.

My mum not only found a copy of the catalogue, she also managed to find a very friendly customer service rep who located the dress in my size in a warehouse somewhere. Three years it had been sat there! They obviously really wanted me to wear a dress.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 16/03/2015 11:04

I understand. I do this too Blush.
I suppose a normal response to wanting something that's out of stock would be to choose something else. Or manage without. Where's the fun in that though Wink.

improbablesaint · 16/03/2015 11:11

aw Pouquoi that is amazing
YES, Santas, you get it!
