OH yes Johnny BODEN you fucker. We don't run out of summer stock in March.

rubs hands in preparation
( thinks back to buying some Limited edition Cage shoes at 3am once)

Whats the best out of stock moment youve ever had?

I saw a bench designed by Kevin McCloud - it was gorgeous but quite pricey (about £500, iirc). Next time I looked, his furniture design business had gone belly up and its website had been closed down. I immediately became obsessed with buying the bench and managed to track down the liquidators who told me which company had bought all the bankrupt stock. I then spoke to them and got one for £180.

Well if anyone would like to use their juju to locate a Kaos trap for Skylanders (RRP £5.99, currently only available on Amazon for £55.99) I would be eternally grateful...

MrsPeabody · 16/03/2015 11:42

I just experienced this recently. Managed to get the company to update me by email when the item was back in stock. I had waited three months for it and may have chased them a little. I was notified before they even updated the website! Smile I am sooo pleased with my purchase.

MrsPeabody · 16/03/2015 11:46

Crystalqueen, have you emailed smyths toys to get them to update you?

MrsPeabody · 16/03/2015 11:50

Oh, there are some in stock in Game stores. Where are you based? My closest one is Dunfermline for £7.99

WeirdCatLady · 16/03/2015 11:51

Ebay have got kaos traps bidding from a few pounds, buy now from about £20?

SoonToBeMrsB · 16/03/2015 11:55

Not sure why some people have been so rude on this thread Confused

I do this too OP, I end up searching to the ends of the internet if I'm desperate for something and refuse to accept it as out of stock. I actually phoned a clothing store in the south of England (I'm in Glasgow) because I'd been told by their head office that they had one coat in stock in my size and because they couldn't do a payment over the phone, they posted it to my local store and I paid the postage at that end. Commitment! Blush

CrystalQueen · 16/03/2015 12:19

OMG MrsPeabody I love you. I am in Dundee so not that far away. When I check the Dundee stock it shows me Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy as well as online availability (ie none), didn't know there was a Game in Dunfermline. Now just have to persuade DH to drive to Dunfermline...

WeirdCatLady on principle I am not paying £20 on eBay. Even though that's probably cheaper than driving to Dunfermline.

MrsPeabody · 16/03/2015 12:21

Brilliant. I wonder if they would transfer it to your local branch for you, like the person above did with the clothing?

PatterofaMinion · 16/03/2015 12:22

No Kaos traps for miles around here Sad

improbablesaint · 16/03/2015 14:17

Why is it that the only out of stock items I stalk online are school uniform related? Grin

FreeButtonBee · 16/03/2015 14:23

I stalked a pair of shoes on the office website for months. Those lace up blogger ones. The morning I got those was the first and only time I've been grateful for a 5am wake up call from the toddlers. Last pair in a size 5

NotYouNaanBread · 16/03/2015 14:23

I am completely with you, OP. An IKEA in another country just told me that they are out of stock on the island I want, but the product I need is in stock in the IKEA on the mainland, and I'm making them chase it up and see if it can be shipped. I AGONISED over those bloody sinks. I'm not having a little thing like "out of stock" screw up my design now.

improbablesaint · 16/03/2015 14:37

ooh new thread idea on bloggers
