I can't imagine my DP having an apocalyptic meltdown because the DC presented him with burnt toast/undercooked pancakes/unripe berries Confused for breakfast.

Ladies, some of you are out of control.

Massive generalisation but women seem to be more likely to put pictures of their presents on facebook than men. Possibly due to mothers day meaning more to them, but I think it does fuel jealousy in others who are already feeling insecure. A bit of a vicious circle.

thanks MrsTerry the onlygood thing I suppose is, moving forwards I know not to expect a fuss.

At least the vicar always gives us flowers on mothers day so I won't go without. Grin

I think I'll keep away from this site next Mother's Day. It's been quite an eye opener. Two threads have stood out for me. One started a few days ago by a poster saying her friend was upset that her teenage sons didn't present her with flowers in church in front of everyone and every year she's distraught about it /ruins her day and one this morning that she was given a Mothers day card from her dp. She, or he, never came back to explain whether the card was bought by her dp on behalf of their kids or that she even has any!!

Honestly no one I know in rl moans about MD at all.

We ignore it entirely in our family. Doesn't bother me. Just an excuse for card companies to flog more cards in my view.
