So you have plenty of time to start making gifts & sorting out who is going where for "the big day". Grin

I am not doing Christmas any more. I have done over 40 now and TBF it's all a bit samey with the tree and the presents and the dinner and the repeats on telly.

BlackeyedSusan · 15/03/2015 16:45

ha, ha, thought it would be to piss off maryz!

magimedi · 15/03/2015 16:45

I presume this is to distract me from the angst of Mothers' Day?

Yes, indeed.

Shouldn't it be in the Christmas topic [helpful]

No - or it wouldn't annoy you Xmas Grin

I love Christmas but it should never be seriously discussed until December

I am on maternity leave until January 2016 and I don't want to start wishing away the year .... my baby only just arrived well she is nearly 2 months

Can we not look forward to the more immediate things like spring and summer?

Yes, YUBMassivelyU
Having said that - I've planned how we can pay the council tax by mid Nov and overpay the energy bills so we have that cash available. Plus getting Amazon vouchers for pressies
You caaaahhhh.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 15/03/2015 16:49

You sadist Angry

daisychain01 · 15/03/2015 16:51

I've already bought all my presents on Black Friday.

Only kidding.

Haven't you got anything better to do with your time, you must be reeeeeeeeeeally bored today. [flame-throwing icon]

Sparklingbrook · 15/03/2015 16:52

It really is Maryz Christmas needs a complete revamp, you can't go on having the same dinner year after year and filling the house with tasteless clutter for a month is just impractical frankly.

Fauxlivia · 15/03/2015 17:08

Better get the sprouts on Grin

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 15/03/2015 17:09

That would be right up my street Maryz. save all the trudging round the shops when it's dark and cold too.

Sit outside on the patio on Christmas Day evening therefore avoiding the need to watch the Christmas Downtown crapola. Bored after lunch? Mow the lawn or a bit of light weeding of the borders.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 15/03/2015 17:21

Revenge themed Christmas? I would love to send some my crackpot relations a list of their misdemeanors instead of an overpriced card from m&s.

The dc would get an invoice instead of a pile of gifts....
Oh stop me someone. Grin

FoxyVeganJane · 15/03/2015 17:22

YANBU. It sneaky, Christmas sort of looms from nowhere.

I've bought 8 presents and some stocking fillers.

Planned the Christmas menu.

Planned some good festive viewing.

Stashed £40 away, I am buying Toast crackers this year and I don't care if they're sodding expensive.

I bought wrapping paper in the sale and I'm doing charity donation and no cards.

I have a terramundi pot off christmas market/fairs savings.

I am a Christmas Prepper, this year I'm not being caught off guard Grin

ratspeaker · 15/03/2015 17:26

Funnily enough I discussed with my sister this morning what she's wanting for Xmas.
I bought the cards in the after Xmas sales.
Got some wrapping paper too.

But i'm not as organised as my granny who would buy her presents in the January sales!

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 15/03/2015 17:26

foxy Prepper eh? gets gun

GymBum · 15/03/2015 17:28

Well played Magi. Ha ha ha Grin

iwanttogotothechaletschool · 15/03/2015 17:31

Amazon vouchers - now that is a good idea!

My local theatre started selling pantomime tickets for this year's panto in January, the Christmas eve tickets are virtually sold out already! And yes I have got my tickets for it Blush

FruChristerOla · 15/03/2015 17:36

Are you OK, Magi?

Grin
ISpidersmanYouMeanPirate · 15/03/2015 17:44

Wow and I thought I planned early by being finished by mid-December...

Although according to DH I am BU to be excited/planning DS2's first birthday in May. I already have 2 presents and want to get one more. And I know what cake Im doing.

DH has just booked MILs train tickets so we know what day the 'party' (grandparents + us) is.

I would buy Christmas presents earlier but with two little DC its difficult to know what they'll like/need in 9 months!

FoxyVeganJane · 15/03/2015 17:51

I hate being off guarded, Easter I'm ignoring as its a tricky beast.

June ds birthday done. Cake ingredients stored. Parts for toy ordered, toy sorced and ordered.

Christmas will be done by August and then I can handle its tricksier side. You know the knew friend the wine you forgot to buy. Managable if the larger side is done.

I am locked and loaded and my perishables are shelved by date and my root store is ready. Coupons are collected and we are go for Christmas. Grin

claraagain · 15/03/2015 18:02

If you live for tomorrow you dont get to enjoy today

Plus you then come on here moaning that christmas was an anticlimax and no-one appreciated your homemade fork covers (or some such crap). Of course they don't.- almost all homemade stiff is carp and no your teenage nephew really doesn't want it (same with boots deodorant based gift sets) and secondly it should be about people- not mind blowingly stupid gift giving.
