Excuse my title thread but I have got the rage. The CSA have informed me that because exp has submitted his tax form that they have now assessed him as paying only £5 a week because the poor bloke doesn't have enough wages to live on! He has evaded giving in his tax return form for years so the CSA set a default payment of £30 until he did submit. He still refused to do so and they took out a liability order. He came to an arrangement with the Baliffs to pay off £1200 at £100 per month which he did. I will add this is all my child has recieved in eight years!
So now that he has lied on his tax return form ( CSA lady said we both know that he doesn't live on fresh air) they have said he has paid over payments to me and I will have to refund him the money! Aibu that this is total bollocks

Sorry, his tax return only covers last year, doesn't it? So they're asking you to repay, effectively, £25 a week for the last year? £1,300?

The fault is not with the CSA but with the NRP who fails to voluntarily maintain his child! He has to be paid back out of taxpayers money so they are obliged to ask if you are in a position to repay. If his lifestyle exceeds his declared income ask for a departure / variation and give them all the information you can about his holidays, house, car golf club etc . You can also ask HMRC to investigate

He was assessed at £30 a week default from first claim eight years ago he never paid that for seven years due to them chasing him and him giving the brush off so that £30 built into arrears. They then took out a liability of £1200 yheir figures not mine and he ignored that so they sent the Baliffs in and he came to an agreement of £100 a month of which he paid for a year. Meanwhile because the arrears had built up they wanted to take out another LO for this for a few grand. Hence the reason he's probably shit himself at facing paying out a lot of arrears and gave it a false tax return.
I think that they are probably going to backdate the £1200 payment and that he should only of been paying £20 a month £5 a week therefore leaving me with the overpayment!

Challenge the backdating decision at the very least.
