Or mêlée, or brouhaha, or contretemps, depending on taste.

MN Royalty again leaving out the nobodies like me. SMH

nickelbarapasaurus · 10/03/2015 23:35

answer me this

is it "Frack-us"
or "frack-Arrr"

it's been driving me mad all day because both sound right

PrettyFeet · 10/03/2015 23:35

ive been on here for the last 10 years and what I see now is awful. Competitive awfulness. There is no real support.

PrettyFeet · 10/03/2015 23:38

just look at the two messages sent since. Twits, on the back of a real upset and you have to do smug. Its not funny and I have a very acute sense of humour.

Mintyy · 10/03/2015 23:40

Aibu should be renamed Petty Gripes, I have campaigned long and hard!

Hq just ignore me though

Hope things are ok with you PrettyFeet.

Lurkingforanswers · 10/03/2015 23:41

YANBU op. I left a thread yesterday after posting because it was just turning into a bunfight. People should be allowed to express their opinions or contribute their own experiences without being shot down. I left the thread not because I was afraid to speak but because I refuse to argue with some key board warriors who when faced with me would without a doubt not have the gall to speak to me in the same way. It's the same posters time and time again that don't read the bloody thread properly and try to shoot down anyone's opinion that doesn't match their own.

Mintyy · 10/03/2015 23:41
Confused
PrettyFeet · 10/03/2015 23:44

Thank you Minty, things are fine with me. Im just saying what a lot of people just won't say at the moment due to feeling suppressed and bullied.

PrettyFeet · 10/03/2015 23:45

Mumsnet HQ or whatever tend to actually laugh at them and let it go on time and time again.

Lurkingforanswers · 10/03/2015 23:47

Is the Confused for me Minty ?

Pretty I would agree that it is a form of bullying, all the odfod, buiscits and talk of goats makes me think of my teenage years at school. I find it hard to believe grown women would act this way. I think it's perhaps individuals who were bullied themselves and find it makes them feel better and stronger to bully people who they aren't faced with.

IHavemyownLighthouseyouknow · 10/03/2015 23:48

OP is NBU.

PurdeyBirdie · 10/03/2015 23:48

I totally agree. There is a pocket of posters who think they have the monopoly on vitriolic put-downs. And then have the gall to call themselves feminists.

Lurkingforanswers · 10/03/2015 23:49

biscuit that should say, getting late!

SaucyJack · 10/03/2015 23:51

I'd be quite up for a "fracas" with Hammond. Clarkson's a bit meh tho.

PrettyFeet · 10/03/2015 23:54

See, a shut down again, thinking its smart. Oh lets all laugh about Hammond and clarkson, its not damn funny. Why on earth don't you get it.

SaucyJack · 10/03/2015 23:58

Would you prefer a James May joke instead?

PrettyFeet · 11/03/2015 00:00

I do actually have to go to bed now. Ive said my piece and I know it wont make a damn bit of difference because there are too many wise arse twats on here. I feel better for voicing it though.

Mumsnet was a place of respect a while back but now its become bitter, nasty and competitive.

I never signed up for that and as a woman I don't want to be any part of it.

Kleptronic · 11/03/2015 00:01

I think, Pretty, there are two separate threads running simultaneously in the same space here.

The one the OP started, which seems to me to be a bit of fun-poking at AIBU and Jeremy Clarkson, who is in the news for being suspended from the BBC, apparently for having had a 'fracas' with his producer.

The other thread is about heartfelt opinions on Mumsnet having gone to the dogs, and the two have somehow combined into a peculiar but telling mash-up.

And I am now going to spoil my summary by saying it's crossed porpoises.

Marshy · 11/03/2015 00:02

I think everyone needs to go for a little sleep. It'll all look better in the morning

Lurkingforanswers · 11/03/2015 00:08

At least you know your not alone in your thoughts Pretty
I'm an upfront person. I speak my mind and if I have a problem with anyone I have no trouble confronting them. Having said that, I am never nasty to anyone just because I can and I don't know anyone in real life who behaves that way. It makes it hard to deal with on here, people can say and do what they like here with no consequences so really it's a losing battle, sadly.

TheFirstOfHerName · 11/03/2015 07:36

The very first thread I started on Mn was in AIBU (I know... what was I thinking?) on the subject of children's birthday parties and invitations.

Pretty I'm sorry you have had such negative experiences.

OP posts:
WeirdCatLady · 11/03/2015 07:43

I think some of you are WAY too upset about Jeremy Clarkson. Grin

But really, this is a lighthearted thread about Top Gear FFS so can everyone who is hijacking it for a serious moan please bog off back to whatever other thread you are droning on about??

ahbollocks · 11/03/2015 07:50

I am so confused. And I know I shouldn't, but 'acute sense of humour' made me smile prettyfeet. Hope you are alright!

antumbra · 11/03/2015 07:57

I think we know it was a good old smack in the mouth.

Or a punch in the pus as we say in Scotland.

antumbra · 11/03/2015 07:58

Ot a stove in the heid.
