Aftermath of teen party

haggardoldwitch · 07/03/2015 09:54

DS had drinks for friends last night. We got plenty of drink, snacks as requested and retired upstairs to listen to horrid music coming from the kitchen

I got up this morning preparing for the worst to find empties in the recycling, the dishwasher put on and everything put away.

I did have to pick up a piece of popcorn that hadn't been swept up.

AIBU to think teenagers don't know how to behave these days?

My son (14) went to a party when the parents had gone away. One friend broke a decoration by trying to do pull ups on a door frame. He was so mortified that he apparently spent the next 3 hours cleaning the entire house from top to bottom (tbf his mum does have OCD and keeps an immaculate house!). House had never looked so good!

Nothavingfunrightnow · 07/03/2015 11:18

Where there lots of teenagers at the party? Gate crashers?

Nothavingfunrightnow · 07/03/2015 11:19

HAHA at me! Just reread your post, OP!! :D

HellKitty · 07/03/2015 11:24

Oh God. We're going away for a weekend soon and leaving 17 yr old in charge. He's going to totally tidy the place isn't he Hmm

AlpacaPicnic · 07/03/2015 12:59

Nah Hellkitty... I'm going to invite him to mine so he can tidy up here! As a reward he can play with DHs collection of Xboxes...

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 07/03/2015 13:03

I suspect a complex double bluff. Next time, you'll go out (after leaving the place a tip in the expectation they'll tidy up) and all hell will break loose. They might even hoover!

taxi4ballet · 07/03/2015 13:12

My house is totally untidy and is in desperate need of redecorating. I know, I'll ask dd if some of her friends would like to come over...

cashewnutty · 07/03/2015 13:19

My DD had her 18th party sleepover at our house. We went and stayed with my parents for the night. When we returned the next day the kitchen was full of teenagers washing dishes and retrieving glasses and cans. My neighbour said the only noise they really heard was when a bunch them decided to have a jump on the trampoline. They are a lovely bunch.

Charlesroi · 07/03/2015 13:23

I'd reduce his allowance as he's clearly not spending enough on fags and booze.
Have you checked the broadband router logs for porn downloads ?

Lovemycatsandkids · 07/03/2015 13:27

Have you checked the garden though op? Grin

Lovemycatsandkids · 07/03/2015 13:29

Can I add my teen dds have never been drunk! They hate sleepovers at friends and so come home after parties.

Me and dh drink far more. And they disapprove and nag. They also work at school ffs.

What's the bloody problem with kids today? Grin

Janethegirl · 07/03/2015 13:49

I guess kids try to do the opposite of their parents Grin

TheFairyCaravan · 07/03/2015 13:55

Love my kids have never come home drunk either. I don't doubt DS1 has been drunk because he went on a lads' holiday to Malia.

The pair of them went out last night because DS1(20) is in the army and is going back tomorrow. They were home in bed playing FIFA by 2am. This morning DS2(18) said "going out doesn't suit me, it makes me too tired!"

HootyMcTooty · 07/03/2015 15:07

Wot no vomit in the sink?

Doilooklikeatourist · 07/03/2015 15:19

DS. Had a few friends round to pre drink before getting a minibus to the nearest city to go round the clubs on his 19th birthday
As we live rurally , DH and I saw the mini bus whizz past the drive , so went and told DS to get one of the boys to stand at the end of the drive to wave down the bus
DS had a black sack , collecting the disposable glasses , 1 was going round with the glass recycling bin for the bottles , 1 was on his hands and knees on the floor wiping some spilt beer .
It gets worse , they all thanked me for cooking some pizzas and getting some snacks ready for them
Sigh , not like the old days .

The80sweregreat · 07/03/2015 15:52

Thats good, was expecting the worst!

HellKitty · 07/03/2015 15:52

The 17 yr old here drinks green tea and likes sushi. I despair I really do.

SageYourResoluteOracle · 07/03/2015 16:03

Lazy, selfish, entitled children. They need a good clip round the ear! I blame the parents.

Oh, wait...

ChillySundays · 07/03/2015 23:12

What no police or ambulances?!!!!

Zippidydoodah · 07/03/2015 23:39

The less said about my teen party that went wrong.......Blush

Pancakeflipper · 07/03/2015 23:43

No one got a permanent marker and drawn on your window sills?

nocoolnamesleft · 08/03/2015 01:38

My godson is a total rebel. His parents have always been very left wing right on luvvies, with an alternative hippy lifestyle. He joined the police.

puds11isNAUGHTYnotNAICE · 08/03/2015 01:41

Christ! When I was their age I was drunk, on cocaine, playing badminton Hmm in the back garden at 1.30am with the neighbours shouting out the window at us to shut the fuck up Grin

You messed up obviously Grin

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 08/03/2015 02:11

The only time one of my then teens had a party, we checked the internet history the next day and found they had been looking at.. "maths is fun" website [shocked]
AND they had stopped their band rehearsal (heavy metal, with amps) at 9.30pm, of their own accord Confused
We're still not sure what we did wrong raising him!

shawaddysh · 08/03/2015 02:38

I'd check the bins - when I was having wild bad parties I was pretty good at hiding the bad stuff carefully away in bins or woods!!!!!! If I knew the parents were coming down the next morning I'd find suitable outlets for the wrongdoings. Neighbours wheeliebins?
