To think these beauty experts are deluding themselves

Sali Hughes and India Knight and two other beauty experts discussing "ageing gracefully".

India and the woman on the right are very overweight. The skin care expert's blusher is clown like and the woman next to her appears to have a face full of fillers. They earn their living - in part - advising woman on how to look good but, with the exception of Sali Hughes, they don't! It just makes me think about what a farce the whole beauty industry is.

Any thoughts?

Nancy66- the other bird isn't a mess, here- flattering camera angle with no filters and airbrushing.

So harsh!

the two overweight are not, they are probably size 16 which is the UK average

they probably are a bit overweight, to my eyes not criticizing just making an observation. Also being the 'average' doesn't mean they're not overweight. Just that the majority of people in the UK are in fact overweight...if that makes sense?

Brix Smith-Start, beauty expert - no way!

Fashion, yes! Watching her and Gok Wan try to outsmart each other was amusing.

She was fairly iconic as a female guitar player in The Fall... has started a fashion business and hacks her way round the fashion shows.

As for being overweight - meh! Who cares? I can't get het up because all women on telly are not stick thin!

I think they all look nice. the presenter needs to learn how to breathe though.

Between every other sentence it's GASP!! GASP!!

OP, maybe you need to take a long look at why you would even think those things. You are correct in that the beauty industry is a bit of a sham, given that it needs to persuade women that we have flaws in order to encourage us to want their products and services, but for the love of god, we are not supposed to be identikit copies of whatever the beauty "standard" is these days.

Fuck me. Really, the women on that video all look lovely and glowing and healthy. Ok, the plastic surgery or whatever one of them has had isn't my cup of tea, but each to their own eh?

I think they all look good – they've all found their own style and seem to be happy in their skin. Particularly India - love her attitude Smile and dress.
