My neighbours really piss me off with their tummble dryier. It goes on for 3 hours almost every night, I hear the slow spinning groan in my lounge when I just want quiet to read a book in the evening.

So would it be better to run it for 3 hrs a night from 10pm when you could reasonably expect OP to be trying to get to sleep?

They may think they're being considerate by running the drier at a time OP is likely to be up anyway.

I don't put mine on after a certain time but only because it is EXTREMELY loud. So much so that I can't hear the tv in the next room over it.

pumpkinsweetie · 11/02/2015 15:21

How thin are your walls op? I can only just hear my neighbours washer, but thats only when it is on a proper spin. I am surprised you are hearing it so loudly tbh..

Yabu by the wayWink

God, I'd rather have a tumble dryer noise while I'm reading than other people's children scraping chairs across those dreadful laminate floors.

But, erm, yes, why can't you just read in a different bit of the house?

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 11/02/2015 15:31

When would be your preferred time for them to do it OP?

JudgeRinderSays · 12/02/2015 07:32

yabu you do not need for the to be quiet I'm the evening, you would just prefer it. well tough, people have the right to live their lives without treading on eggshell s around their meighbours

TheAnswerIsYes · 12/02/2015 09:32

Perhaps you could read your book during the day. Sorted.

MumToFourCats · 12/02/2015 09:41

Maybe they put it on to hide their groans as they try out 50 Shades scenes.

I'm always scared to put mine on at night incase of a fire!!

5dogsgoswimming · 12/02/2015 14:06

Mine takes longer than an hour!

SoonToBeMrsB · 12/02/2015 14:10

We both work full time and I would never leave it on while I'm not in the flat so mine goes on for 90 mins every other night at around 8 - 9pm. It's the only time I can do it and my neighbour would be told where to go this in a calm and polite manner if they demanded I did my laundry to suit them.

AmserGwin · 12/02/2015 17:17

YABU. I don't put mine on when I'm out of the house or going to bed. It's a known fire risk
