to bring my baby in the shower with me?

He's 8 months old and I am fed up with being stinky and greasy where I seem to have no time for baths and showers these days, he sits, crawls and climbs things so can't just stick him in a bouncy chair for the duration. He's a light sleeper so can't make noise showering or bathing while he's asleep.

DH and I usually bring him into our bath but won't be practical if I'm home alone. Wondered if shower would be possible though as it's an enclosed en suite shower so maybe he'll just sit down while I shower? I could sit down with him... Anyone else done it? Or am I being completely crazy?

I wouldn't leave my baby distressed anywhere. Whatever the research says regarding long term effects etc, I would just rather not if there's an alternative (eg take her in the shower with me).

My DS spend more than half their lives in their cots as babies and don't manage to cause any damage.

What's dangerous in your bathroom about having the child on the floor with some toys?

Throwing flannels at Mummy was a hilarious game...

I didn't have dd in the bath while I showered as she would have tried to climb out and my balance is dodgy. On the floor it was OK - I just moved the loo brush up high.

Not it's not dangerous for my DD but it is for my possessions Smile. Last night while I was running her bath she opened the toilet and put her sippy cup, a toy and my posh bubble bath down it in the space of about 5 seconds!

dd has been coming in the shower woth me since she was 6 months old as we don't have a bath. she loves it Grin so yanbu at all

NotCitrus It is only a bit dangerous at the moment as he is at a stage where he can pull himself up into a standing position but he often then falls over awkwardly, which could end badly in a bathroom with a hard stone floor...
