To be pissed off that upstairs neighbour does wishing late at night, knowing his machine is right above our bedroom?

It's spinning now, again. No point going to bed as it is so loud (crap conversion, although previous lovely considerate neighbours improved sound proofing in kitchen).
This happens a couple of times a week.
We've explained how noisy it is and asked them to please avoid doing it.

Are we being unrespasonable or is this inconsiderate?

I get sick of texting him about telly too loud - just wrote a text but I'm pissed off so shouldn't send it now.

So venting on here. Why don't they get that they live in a flat and that means you have to think of others?!??

Not had a problem with two previous sets of neighbours. At all.

Economy 7 doesn't start before midnight. It's usually midnight - 7am or 1am - 8am depending on whether the UK is on GMT or British Summer Time. I live in a village with no gas, so I know far more than is healthy Blush about E7 in a vain attempt to keep my monstrous electricty bills down. My dishwasher and washing machine both have delay switches and always come on overnight. No tumble drier because (1) they are too expensive, and (2) they are a fire hazard.

I think you neighbour is just being a bit thoughtless, which doesn't make it any easier to deal with.
