AIBU to wonder if this is "new" and not like it at all?!

On FB (sorry) friends have posted scan pic of baby and clearly have been told the sex and have put "introducing" and the name of the baby, which is not due for a good 20 odd weeks.

Why do people do this?

My mum would never buy anything for a baby until it was born - this almost seems date I say it tempting fate? :S

but that's each to their own isn't it daughter? I knew what I was going to call my son and there was no feeling obliged about it - I still love his name. I don't think badly of people who don't have a name or those who haven't decided yet - their baby, their name, their reasons. calling it daft is a tad rude and small minded - other people just do their own thing and in the grand scheme of things - so what ?
