AIBU to expect DH to use a pink toothbrush ?

Last toothbrush left in a multipack in bathroom cupboard is pink & my DH is refusing to use it - in the privacy of our own bathroom, it's not as if I'm expecting him to take it to work or anything ! He has asked my to go shopping tomorrow to buy a more masculine colour. I won't have time tomorrow, I have a very busy day and we don't need any other shopping !!!

Go out today and buy another three all in different shades of pink and tell him it was all they had - "sorry". Also buy some of those pills that turn your teeth pink to see if you're cleaning them properly and pop one in his morning cuppa so he has the choice of using a pink toothbrush to clean the pink off his teeth or going to work with pink teeth! He may spontaneously combust.

But it hasn't been established that there was a single thing stopping him from going to the shop himself to get the toothbrush. Other than his overwhelming manliness, of course.

Also for further fun, over the coming months change to pink toilet paper, pink towels, pink soap, pink bedlinnen, pink curtains... you get the picture and always say things like 'I don't know what you mean, it's more mauve/lilac/purple/beige...' Get the children to agree with you that the things aren't pink but gradually turn his whole world pink with him in it. He may spontaneously combust - leaving an ironically pink mess all over the room.

Paint the toothbrush handle while he's out?

Goldmandra · 30/01/2015 12:15

By soe pink bedding for your bed. Then he will have to sleep on the sofa and you can starfish all night Grin

Oh, and paint the TV remote pink so he can't use that either.

Goldmandra · 30/01/2015 12:23

Good grief! I meant Buy some Blush

Burke1ApocalypseThen helping your spouse doesn't make you their assistant. It's fairly normal for both people in a marriage to often ask each other if they could do something/drop something off/buy something for them while at the shops. If she was going to be near a shop that he wanted something from and he wasn't, it wouldn't be unreasonable to ask if she'd mind popping in if she had a minute and get a specific item.

Asking someone to do silly and unnecessary errands for you is making them your assistant. You are saying that person has nothing else to do of important but do your busy work. Because you are Very Important.

Hey Op is your partner in a pop band? Does he also make you take out all the blue M&ms?

DropYourSword · 30/01/2015 12:35

Whats his stance on pink ice cream? Hot dogs? Salmon? Clearly no pink may pass his lips!

WD41 · 30/01/2015 12:43

This has to be a joke thread surely?

On the off chance it is true, then your DH is a bit thick, isn't he?

Summerisle1 · 30/01/2015 12:44
