That really. Posters banging on about semantics and knickers in twist and here we have real evil, real racist evil bastards.

Ffs just turn in radio 5 all day or BBC 2 now. This is The news.

Just wanted to add, having see. A lot of Auschwitz survivors being interviewed recently, they all say the same thing,

' don't hate. We are all the same under the skin'.

The most important message to all of us.

Peace and love.

Iggi999 · 27/01/2015 22:26

Surely step one on the road to the holocaust included people being allowed/encouraged to speak disrespectfully about Jewish people, and not be challenged. We should challenge racism wherever we see it, whenever we see it.
What a strange OP. I hope no-one is posting about their bridezilla cousin etc, today. Hmm

Theboodythatrocked · 27/01/2015 22:28

Tinks and I mean this with the greatest of respect. Calm down and get better soon.

yet another bun fight on mums net, get the perspective, we are very, very lucky that we do not life in a war zone or terrified because that we areliving despot banana republic. this was/is real life, and some people on here are so busy getting irritable with each other they seem to miss the point of the thread imo.

Tinks42 · 27/01/2015 22:31

People like you read a bit [daily fail or google] which is absolute pants and bang on about this v that, then do a 360 degree turn all of a sudden and applaud others for different views.

Theboodythatrocked · 27/01/2015 22:39

iggy sorry you need to read the posts here and in the other thread.

No one disagrees with you.

My point was simply it was distasteful arguing the toss about a phrase from a famous actor who was actually trying to highlight racism.

It was lost in coloured and of coloured

Just seemed ridiculous today of all days.

Just my view though.

OP posts:
Tinks42 · 27/01/2015 22:41

Here we go.

To cover your arse you're telling me Im an angry person.

Like I said, you started a stupid thread comparing atrocities from reading the daily fail or google things.

Theboodythatrocked · 27/01/2015 22:43

tinks it's called being mature, debating, listening, reading and respecting others views.

Let us all know when you are there.

Have tried with you but can't be arsed now chik.

OP posts:
Tinks42 · 27/01/2015 22:44

360 turn here

Grin
Theboodythatrocked · 27/01/2015 22:45

The atrocities I remember as an adult in 1991!!! No didn't need the newspapers you mentioned.

Right enough love. No more. Best wishes.

tethersend · 27/01/2015 22:47

Tink and mrsfuzzy, this is just a suggestion, but- given your objection to posters posting on this thread- have you considered not posting on this thread?

Tinks42 · 27/01/2015 22:49

Thanks chik Grin

TheOnlyOliviaMumsnet · 27/01/2015 22:51

Peace and love

Theboodythatrocked · 27/01/2015 22:53

MrsFuzzy agree totally as I started the thread. We have 4 candles outside now. It's vital we remember.

OP posts:
Tinks42 · 27/01/2015 22:55

Yes, I have considered that thersend.

I have also considered the nature of the thread and the opening post.

I have considered yet again the knowledge behind thread.

I have concluded that this is a young person that reads the daily mail and googles quite avidly.

Whom asks questions when sometimes respect and silence on a matter would be a more mature thing.

Theboodythatrocked · 27/01/2015 22:55

Oh chik is commem call around here it's not a put down

Seriously no hard feelings to anyone.

We are all very lucky to be here and to be debating.

OP posts:
Tinks42 · 27/01/2015 22:57

Exactly... peace and love, thank you Olivia.

mrsfuzzy · 27/01/2015 23:02

tethersend what are you actually saying to tink and me ? can't speak for tink but i have not suggested in any shape or form about posters giving their opinions on this site, i was merely saying that some people seem to be slagging each other off, i thought the thread was about bc hitting the news on h memorial day, petty squabbling when there are more important things to debate, the pc brigade no doubt are having a field day with bc but the matter today is memorial day and we must respect that fact that we live where we live =, but not forget much blood has been shed by millions so we could be free and not under a jack boot. rule under stalin, khmer rouge. rwanda, bosnia, i don't think there will ever be peace in the world, not while humans are in charge any way. thinking of the survivors of these terrible events are with me today and we have lit candles on remembrance for those who died.

tethersend · 27/01/2015 23:04

For someone who promotes silence on the issue, you're very, err... vocal Tinks.

I like to have a robust debate- clearly so do others on this thread, the OP included. I think that's a very, very positive thing. I am not a fan of shutting down such a debate, be it because some feel there are more worthy topics to be discussed, or others that the topics should not be discussed at all.

I am now off to bed. Happy debating.

Tinks42 · 27/01/2015 23:06
Flowers Flowers Flowers
Theboodythatrocked · 27/01/2015 23:07

tinks I am 51 with 4 kids.

I have been in mumsnet for 8 years and always have body in my name changes.

And yes I agree respect and silence is probably best here.

OP posts:
Tinks42 · 27/01/2015 23:09

every now and again tethered, there has to be one to shush the crowd. Sleep well.

Tinks42 · 27/01/2015 23:12

I beat ya... Im 52 (only kidding now). I only had one, it damn well hurt! fair play having 4!

Bowlersarm · 27/01/2015 23:21

Totally agree op (with your opening post, possibly have only skimmed your posts since)

Unbelievable to us what they went through. Other people going through similar atrocities currently.

An actor used an ill advised word and apologised.

Very similar. :-/

emmelinelucas · 27/01/2015 23:25

Tinks.
I get where you are coming from and we (thank goodness) have a modicum of freedom to er..robustly discuss things on here. And still stay friends.
But if you had most of your family, and I mean a family tree entire murdered, would you feel differently ?
You do sound a bit. Young.
