to love showering before bed

As a dedicated morning showerer, I'm newly converted to the delights of a pre bedtime shower. Getting into bed all fresh and clean, it's a real revelation! So do you favour AM or PM?

Shower in the morning, bath at night.

Winterbells · 22/01/2015 02:39

Yanbu! I love it. Being all squeaky clean with freshly shaved legs and getting in to a bed with clean sheets just out of the tumble dryer is bliss.

I am not a morning person so I cannot face showering first thing and dealing with getting myself ready as well as the children so it's nice to get out of bed and just get dressed and go. If I shower in the morning I just want put my pyjamas on and crawl back in to bed!

MidniteScribbler · 22/01/2015 02:48

I have one in the morning and evening. I need the morning one to wake me up and have to wash my hair every day, and the evening one relaxes me and I go to bed clean. I also love a late night skinny dip on a hot evening before bed. Cools the blood as my nana used to say.

AmyElliotDunne · 22/01/2015 19:06

I need a morning shower to wake up properly, but I also like both DP & I to be squeaky clean for sexy-time, so I tend to vary it depending on the likelihood of sex what's happening that day.

Sometimes I compromise with a 2pm shower before picking up the kids, so I'm bleary-eyed all morning but perk up in time for the onslaught.

JohnCusacksWife · 22/01/2015 19:08

PM showerer here. I like my bed too much to get out of any earlier than I have to in the morning.

peasandlove · 22/01/2015 19:10

Both. Wash the dirt off at night. Wash hair in the morning

peasandlove · 22/01/2015 19:12

These threads never end well. Soon the great unwashed will come and say anything more than once a week is a waste of water and they don't actually smell Grin

TheRealAmandaClarke · 22/01/2015 19:14

Both.
But pm is my favourite.

Onlyconnect · 22/01/2015 19:15

What sort of wash do those of you who shower at night then have in the morning?

BumWad · 22/01/2015 19:15

PM. Can't beat it

CatsClaus · 22/01/2015 19:19

i like both, but am often too damned lazy to squeeze in the bedtime shower.

DurhamDurham · 22/01/2015 19:23

I went in the shower as soon as I got in from work tonight so that I could put my pyjamas on. By 6.30 I was clean and cosy for the evening. I usually go in just before bed but occasionally earlier like today. If I miss out a shower on the evening I always go in the next morning. I'm convinced I must smell by then Grin

LadyLuck10 · 22/01/2015 19:24

I love both. Morning to give you that fresh feeling and evening to put you in that relaxing mood before bed.

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 22/01/2015 19:25

Shower in the morning to wake up and to wash my hair.
Bath in the evening to soak and relax.

JRShotMe · 22/01/2015 19:30

Both. Shower in the morning after pre-work dog walk and then again in evening post last dog walk and evening run/gym session.

susiedaisy · 22/01/2015 19:35

Usually both

Am to wake me up and get rid of my bed hair
Pm to get rid of sweat etc from the day as I work in a hospital

But on days off I might only shower once sometime in the middle of the day if I'm pottering at home.

Really don't think I could choose if I was only allowed one..

Eunichem · 22/01/2015 19:36

PM. MaeMobley, can confirm the Chinese thing. Am ethnically chinese and was brought up doing this. Have converted DH. Means bedding stays clean for longer too...

MrsDiesel · 22/01/2015 19:55

Pm, I have to get up an hour earlier to shower in the morning because my hair is so thick and unruly, It takes 20 mins to shower, 20 mins (at least) to dry it and then another 20 mins (at least) to straighten it. If I wash it of a night I can just go to bed and have beautiful wavy hair in the morning.

When I shower at night, I wash face, hands and armpits when I get up.

Worcesterwoman · 22/01/2015 19:56

am shower to wake me up and reverse the inevitable bedhead scenario, pm bath with potions and lotions to relax :-)

Idontneedanotherhero · 22/01/2015 20:00

The only time I've had a morning shower was in the days my dd was tiny and I was severely sleep deprived, in order to make me feel human. These days it's an evening bath, heaven after a day with a toddler!

Ninjamouse · 22/01/2015 20:05

It's funny how many people have said they hate to go to bed with the day's grime-I look at it the other way-I'd hate to spend the whole day with last nights grime on me! You sweat in bed-I can't remember the figures but it's a lot more than you think, plus if any hanky panky occurs with DH I wouldn't want to go through the next day without showering! Plus it wakes me up and sorts my hair out for the day! * disclaimer-in an ideal world I'd shower am and pm but our water bill would be huge. It is lovely getting into bed all clean, I love it on nights I've showered after exercise but if i had to pick one it's definitely am Grin

DurhamDurham · 22/01/2015 20:09

If I do have a shower in the morning I brush my teeth and have a wee at the same time, saves vital minutes in the morning. An extra five minutes in bed is worth being a bit disgusting.

NecklessMumster · 22/01/2015 20:10

Both

alpacasosoftsnowgentlyfalling · 22/01/2015 20:13

Agree night- bath ( sometimes Im in my Pjs by 5pm)
Morning- lovely hot shower.

Liara · 22/01/2015 20:14

PM - I get seriously dirty when working and couldn't conceive of going to bed like that. Or even having dinner like that, I need to get clean in order to feel civilised.
