Gives me the rage .... but I'm finding everything gives me the rage lately. Not sure if it's hormones or age.

I used to be so laid back.

Most people I know do it. I think I do with cocktails, not wine though. Not sure why.

MyballsareSandy · 17/01/2015 10:40

Grin, see it was the white wine that did it! I found the rage subsided the more I drank.

Will try the red tonight and see what happens.

Oh no, you can't down red wine. Well you shouldn't, it should be appreciated if good. Unless drunk, then downing tends to happen.

On holiday years ago we stayed in a B&B that did evening meals. It was quite posh. After we chose our wine they put it on a sideboard, out of reach and topped up when our glasses got low. I spent the whole evening twitching. I still get the rage now thinking about it. Grin
I like an empty glass to be topped up straightaway, and if I'm sharing it has to be the same level as the other glass. Fair shares and all that. YABU!

Shockers · 17/01/2015 13:40

Ignore them and top yours up instead. You'll be back to laid back before you know itWinkGrin.

Ah, now this'll give all the wine affficionados the real rage Grin

DH offered me a glass of wine last night. I know little about wine, but he does know his stuff and enjoys it. I said I'd prefer white, but he said it wasn't chilled (so? Confused).
I jokingly suggested he put an ice-cube in it (because I knew it would horrify him Wink)

He gave me my glass of white and he'd done exactly that. Only, he'd accidentally picked up the penguin ice-cubes complete with blue food dye that I'd put in the freezer for an activity with the kids! I had blue, watered down wine Shock

You can't put new wine into old wine! By the bottom of the glass your drink is 10% spit, as eny fule no.

Chandon · 17/01/2015 15:52

well, ME, I get the rage from being topped up from a different bottle, mixing any old red with what I am drinking.

If I down it quickly it is because I don't trust you not to do this!

Are you a wine mixer OP? Of the type that says: "It's all red, what's the problem, wine is wine?"

Hmm Grin

I really dislike my glass being topped up before I've finished the one I have. I like to keep an eye on how many glasses I have and can't do this when people constantly top my wine up. Apart from that, I hate wines being mixed.

Fabulous46 · 17/01/2015 16:26

Um....no my wine is never 10% spit. I drink it like normal people, I don't spit it back into the glass. What a waste of wine. Or are you referring to Buckfast which is normally enjoyed (by some, not me) straight from the bottle?

Tobyjugg · 17/01/2015 17:24

I tell guests to drain their glass because I'm going to top it up. If you begrudge them the bit left in the glass, why invite them in the first place?

LividofLondon · 17/01/2015 17:32

I don't like getting top-ups before I've emptied the glass because it makes it hard to keep a mental note of how much I've drunk the difference between OK and spewing in the morning is a fine line. I also don't want new wine on top of old. But that's not to say I'll neck half a glass just to get a top-up with everyone else.
