to think that telephoning someone you don't really know at 10pm is a bit off?

Someone rang me last night to ask if my DH (who is away) had read an email sent by his wife Confused. Apart from the fact that I couldn't possibly tell whether DH had read it I was annoyed that he rang at 10pm, having always believed that 9.30pm was the cut off for calls unless you know the person really well. AIBU? Or old fashioned?

I get really pissed off if ANYONE calls me after 9:00pm (unless in an emergency). It's bloody rude. Just because you have nothing to do, do you seriously think someone else might not be trying to wind down themselves - maybe sitting down with their late dinner, watching TV/reading a book or having a relaxing bath. 10:00pm callers get short shrift, I'm afraid. No calls in this house before 9:00am and 9:00pm Angry

If someone called me at 10 I would assume it was an emergency. 9pm is probably my personal cut-off and your caller sounds a bit odd.
