I've just googled it too, they kept that quiet didn't they. So an american firm has bought it and now wants everything to taste american Hmm.

I gave up 'Cadburys' when it stopped being Cadburys and I found much better chocolate at Aldi.
And it's even cheaper!

BankWadger oh yes the NZ creme eggs were the best. I got sent some every year from relatives over there, and one year they just weren't the same - the yolk wasn't runny like it should have been. I checked the wrapper and sure enough it said "Made in UK". I had to tell them that they'd paid extortionate postage to send food to the UK that was made here anyway. Hate to think of the carbon footprint of those eggs...

Wow OK this is bang out of order.

I have advised DH and instructed him to switch to Galaxy for all chocolate purchases.

He took it on the chin on the face of it, but I may need to provide comfort in the small hours.

Does anyone remember those toffee and mallow eggs you used to get that were the same size as creme eggs.

I had a Creme Egg or 4 this weekend but didn't notice a difference. Heroes, on the other hand, taste like polystyrene.

I have signed the petition. I'm still pissed off with how shit they have made Roses.,I can't eat them anymore.

DH bought some American chochocolate home last year and it was vile! The after taste was there for ages, even after I ate other food I could still taste the rankness of American 'chocolate'.

A lidl chocolate buyer here too. Used to love dairy milk. But I don't want it with sodding jelly beans in it. I can't believe the arrogance with which they claimed it had never been sold on the basis of containing dairy milk anyway.

That's because we expect decent chocolate as a bare MINIMUM! Not and advertising gimmick. But because we have taste! Grrrr!

This is too much. They've said they tested the new chocolate on consumers. American ones I'm guessing and what do they know? They like Hershey's and it tastes like cooking chocolate.

This might be the first Easter in living memory when I don't put on about a stone...

Hershey's tastes like vomit.

I was ill all day after eating one small Lindt egg too. Very nauseous. It's the palm oil that makes chocolate taste like a cross between vomit and lard now.

Aldi and Lidls stuff is nice, no palm oil in the stuff we choose and cheap too Smile

HelenaDove, I remember the Toffee and Mallow eggs. I was just saying to dh today how nice they were and how you don't get them anymore. Does that mean I'm really old?

I haven't had a crème egg this year yet and I have to say I'm a little bit worried now about how it will taste.
