Don't forget as well that be can't even apply to be removed from the sex offenders register for another 15 years.

An article for those who still believe that Ched Evans has any place in professional football.

I've been trying to open that link but keep getting the advertorials that seem to be popping up on many rapist Ched Evans links today.

I take it some rapist Ched Evans supporter has some IT tech knowledge Hmm

I have stated on a previous thread that I do not intend to start any petitions. I have better and more useful things to do.

He keeps digging himself further. He, his family, his girlfriend and her family on his behalf, have shown nothing but contempt and abuse for the victim. He is too stupid to even fake remorse. His non apology shows that he's sorry only for himself and the current situation he has created.

If he'd left prison with genuine remorse, made a public apology to the victim, offered compensation, hoped for forgiveness and promised to be a better person in the future then he would be back playing for his original club.

Instead he had his family, friends and girlfriend with her family bully the victim over the internet with that disgusting website, hounded her into hiding and five identity changes, go on television looking for sympathy and again bullying the victim with lies. It is disturbing to watch, they've forced the 'mob' to act in defence of this poor, defenceless and repeatedly abused woman. They can blame themselves for that.

How has his bullying of the victim and their defamatory hate site even legal let alone not breached the terms of his probation? He still has another 2 and a half years left on his sentence, he should be sent back to serve it.

Like slag off those of us who are actually trying to do something.

Yes, I can see how difficult that must be.

Inthedarkaboutfashion · 10/01/2015 09:56

I havent slagged off anybody on here, unless you were the person sending rape threats to the employees of Oldham Athletic and I hope you were not one of those people. I gave my opinions, that isn't the same as slagging anybody off. People are allowed to have opinions different to other people.

Inthedarkaboutfashion · 10/01/2015 10:01

If he'd left prison with genuine remorse, made a public apology to the victim, offered compensation, hoped for forgiveness and promised to be a better person in the future then he would be back playing for his original club.

He currently can't do any of those things as he still believes and maintains that he is innocent and is awaiting the outcome of his request for an appeal. If he apologises and acts remorseful he would be admitting guilt which he cannot do whilst he has any hope for an appeal.
I don't believe that he will be granted leave to appeal but he clearly believes that he has a chance and therefore will be advised by his legal team that he cannot apologise.

AuntieStella · 10/01/2015 10:15

He could have made the apology he made this week from the outset.

He could have cancelled the registration of that went page (he is the registered owner).

And he could have avoided blaming the 'mob' for the latest refusal to sign.

Though I'm quite happy to be in a 'mob' that includes PM, deputy PM and leader of the Opposition (and the Maltese PM), senior police officers and many other notable figures.

Or should 'mob' read 'Silent majority finds a way to speak up. And doesn't stop saying something is wrong simply because 3 months have passed. So we keep saying it. Calmly'.

Inthedarkaboutfashion · 10/01/2015 10:25

I agree auntistella that he could and should have done all of those things and still can (and should) do things like closing the website. I don't think his apology really meant much though, it just seemed to be an apology given based on the advice of his legal team and wasn't really an apology at all. I am appalled that the CJS have allowed him to get away with a lot of things (the website in particular) and haven't recalled him to prison to complete the rest of his sentence. I really can't see how he isn't in breach of the terms of his early release.

Pagwatch · 10/01/2015 10:33

He wouldn't have made the same apology upon leaving prison as his apology was 'I'm sorry I appear to be unemployable' and he had no idea that some Neanderthal in the premiership wouldn't be able to get away with employing him.
Hahaha

merrymouse · 10/01/2015 11:45

If he felt he couldn't apologise for legal reasons fine - he should then have waited until he had exhausted the legal process (if that is the correct phrasing) and then tried to find a job when he had been cleared - although even then I think he would have to apologise for behaviour that fell well below the standard of what should be expected of a professional footballer.

(I know that at the moment that standard is pretty low, but that is appalling too.)

merrymouse · 10/01/2015 11:49

The legal system having clearly found him guilty, he shouldn't have expected to be 'rehabilitated' without evidence of remorse and understanding of his crime.

differentnameforthis · 10/01/2015 12:00

but I also think where do you stop with the trying to stop him working ever again? why don't you demand every released prisoner can never work again in their previous career?

He would be a role model, looked up to by boys & girls, idolized. Do you want your child idolizing a convicted rapist? Are you happy with that rapist to get thousands of pounds a week, when his actions & his families actions mean that his victim had to change her name 5 times?

How about the ability of his victim to go back to her job? Yet, she can't, can she? Because she was hounded & harassed so much, that she had to move away from her life & her family & so, her job.

What about HER rights to continue with her life? Because it may have only been Ched Evans convicted for that rape, but his family & friends made her relive that assault through their actions.

differentnameforthis · 10/01/2015 12:10

I believe he is sorry...sorry that he got caught, sorry that he didn't get away with it, sorry he was convicted, sorry he couldn't just pick up his career where he left off

I don't believe is one bit sorry for what he did, and how that poor girl was treated in the aftermath of the rape.

ilovesooty · 10/01/2015 12:14

I don't think he has any understanding of what he did. I feel sorry for his probation officer.

lemisscared · 10/01/2015 12:44

the vile cunt is probably affronted that his victim wasn't grateful for his sexual favours.

Inthedarkaboutfashion · 10/01/2015 13:20

The legal system having clearly found him guilty, he shouldn't have expected to be 'rehabilitated' without evidence of remorse and understanding of his crime.

Rehabilitation hardly happens in the current system. We have a huge reoffending rate because people who go to prison don't get rehabilitated. The system currently focuses on punishment and misses the rehabilitation part which means that many people released from prison soon go back.

merrymouse · 10/01/2015 13:46

Yes - but people who come out of jail often have no family support and no money.

The PFA could certainly afford to send CE on a rehabilitation/re-education programme - maybe they could get some kind of group deal?

Inthedarkaboutfashion · 10/01/2015 14:54

Many people who come out of jail have family support and many don't. Have you seen a prison during visiting hours? They are usually crammed with people visiting their jailed family members because they care about them and want to support them.
The PFA could pay for rehabilitation but the responsibility lies with the CJS, the prison service and probation service and private companies shouldn't need to pick up the slack (even the mega rich PFA).

merrymouse · 10/01/2015 16:27

Generally I would agree with you and I'm quite happy for my taxes to pay for prisoner rehabilitation.

However bearing in mind that he was paid £20k/week, even, apparently, for a few months after he entered prison, I am sure that given the urgentness of the situation somebody in football could have had a whip round - maybe had a look down the back of the sofa.

Also, it's my understanding that the PFA does exist to support its members.

merrymouse · 10/01/2015 16:40

And to be clear, I am defining rehabilitation as preparing somebody to re-enter society by ensuring they understand why they went to prison, not just making them into a nice little earner.

YonicSleighdriver · 10/01/2015 16:45

Inthedark, I haven't seen mention anywhere that the daughter of the board member was a child.

With you, I deplore any rape threats made against anyone, including those against Jessica Ennis-Hill. I don't know if these are under investigation.

ilovesooty · 10/01/2015 17:24

Any attempt to rehabilitate Evans is pointless while he has refused to admit his guilt.

And most people coming out if prison do not have his advantages. Just because prisoners get visitors it doesn't mean they're positive influences.

clam · 10/01/2015 17:28

Yes, I was going to ask where it has ever been said that rape/death threats were made against a child (as opposed to an adult daughter of a board member). Both entirely unacceptable, but a different issue to the sensible objections raised by the vast majority of campaigners/petition-signers.

ilovesooty · 10/01/2015 17:31

Well of course we're still waiting for evidence of any threats having been reported to the police.
