Who I vaguely know, who has posted some article in support of Ched Evans and posted "I hate girls like her" on it.

I have posted "You hate rape victims?". I'll probably get a load of flack of her, but I will be defriending immediately anyway so what the fuck.

I should probably have just defriended and ignored but it riled me SO much. Angry

Facebook spats can be GREAT. They don't have to be vile. You might have had some supporters. I would have had the spat and then defriended later when I got bored of seeing her stuff.

Post this to her: How to not get raped

Madmum24 · 09/01/2015 00:49

Someone posted on FB (in light of the Paris atrocity) that she has warned her partner to keep looking over his shoulder at work every few seconds. He stacks shelves in Tesco. Lots of people hunning and saying that they didn't want to leave the house any more as the world has become so unsafe.

ithoughtofitfirst · 09/01/2015 01:17

bertie that article is so helpful.

Thank you.

FreeWee · 09/01/2015 09:32

Great link Bertie.

I find Facebook an excellent tool for identifying the mincewits amongst one's friends and acquaintances.

Hi I'm new but I was so angry about the comments made by Julia Hartley-Brewer on Question Time that I need to let off steam! I too have read the details of the case and this was a very drunk young girl. many parents have daughters who have left home for university and you worry about them getting drunk and not knowing their previously untested limits. The comment made by Julia Hartley-Brewer that if she were on the jury, she would not have found him guilty of rape is callous and simplistic. She should read the judge's comments. Shame on her for making such a damaging assertion on national television. I have complained to the BBC because as she rightly said, sisters will not be happy.

LoisWilkerson15 · 09/01/2015 10:23

Well done for challenging her Catgirl The attitudes towards Ched Evans on my fb have been similar. Very depressing and interestingly mainly from women Hmm

GlitzAndGigglesx · 09/01/2015 10:24

She hates victims who are having to repeatedly change their name and address because a rapists deranged partner and family are harassing her? What a twat

RamblingRose50 · 09/01/2015 10:40

This case is tragic...a young girl wakes up and doesn't know what happened to her (Ched Evans left by the fire escape?) and she is then subjected to vilification and sanctimonious criticism for what? Getting drunk and wearing high heels. I'm glad to know other people feel as strongly about this as I do...hope Julia Hartley-Brewer now faces a bit of scrutiny herself because I think her comments are incendiary.

Feenie · 09/01/2015 10:49

I've seen the 'she walked fine in high heels so she wasn't that drunk' argument, but it directly contravenes one of the rapist CE's arguments:

There is a bit of loathsome CCTV where CE steps over his victim who is so drunk she was lying on the floor of a kebab shop. His lawyers argue that she was not drunk, she just couldn't walk in those heels.

RamblingRose50 · 09/01/2015 11:09

Loathsome is the word, Feenie. Have we become so brutalised as a society that this behaviour is seen to be acceptable? I just hang on to the words of the judge, who clearly thought this girl was not in a fit state to agree to consensual sex, which makes it by definition rape.

BreakingDad77 · 09/01/2015 11:44

I sometimes think people haven't actually read the case notes.

AliceInHinterland · 09/01/2015 13:12

I don't get it - was she too drunk to be raped or not drunk enough? These misogynists need to get together to get their story straight.

BreakingDad77 · 09/01/2015 14:00

The only plausable reason is that when Ched Evans was born the Angel Gabriel came down and anointed his todger such that he can put it anywhere at anytime and those that have received his penetration should be grateful. Hence his fiancee staying with him and all the others running to covet him.

GlitzAndGigglesx · 09/01/2015 14:17

Alice this is what's confusing. Some sources say she was too drunk to remember, others saying too drunk to walk in the shoes but was walking fine in them. On his website claiming innocence apparently a rape investigation wasn't initially launched. She allegedly went to the police because she had lost her bag and didn't know how she got to the hotel. The night porter in the hotel claims she was very drunk and slurring which both men deny. There's also question about how drunk she was because she remembered to go outside and pick up the pizza box

AliceInHinterland · 09/01/2015 15:23

It's all very confusing... I mean I thought that I have the right to have a drink and a social life but also the right to choose who I have sex with & when, but it turns out they are mutually exclusive. Damn.
