To ask if anyone's child DIDNT get sick loads from nursery and school?

DS starts tomorrow. He doesn't really need to go as such, but I thought it would be good for him so I do have choice here.

He's rarely sick and recovers quick - I on the other hand have spent Dec/jan unwell with a day or 2 here or there being ok ish in between

Is it ALWAYS the rule that they get sick tons at first? Hmm

Please someone tell me of their magical unicorn child who continued to not get sick after starting nursery?!

Not sure if I agree about the vaccination thing Grin though I wasn't vaccinated, apart from having measles, whooping cough and mumps I was rarely I'll, never really got tummy bugs or bad colds, not sure if I would risk my child getting measles in hope it stops them picking bugs up though Grin.

I think some kids just pick everything up, others don't, my dd picked everything up in nursery and reception, we had the joy of scarlet fever as well as all the other stuff, at one point she was rarely well, after reception things settled down and now she's rarely I'll, her immune system seems quite good, probably built up from having so many illnesses at nursery, she has ASD and puts everything in her mouth which at first made her I'll a lot but now she can put the most rancid things in her mouth with no ill effect.

My son hardly ever got sick at preschool and not much at school. He's thrown up once in his 7 years and only needed antibiotics twice. He's hardly ever ill so it's not a given that all kids get loads of bugs once they start preschool/nursery etc!
I have tried hard to get him to catch chickenpox but he still hasn't! He will probably be like Dh and have aged 20Hmm

My never ill DS started nursery 3 months ago. We've had an almost constant snot stream, conjunctivitis twice, chest infection, tonsillitis and impetigo when a parent who didn't know what the spots were took their child to nursery and infected others.

Both DCs started full-time at nursery

We're also in the 'only really chicken pox' group. Ds had it at pre-school, dd got it in Y1.

Other than that they have been attending nursery since they were 2 1/2 and other than ds having 18 months home educated (not for illness) they have each had fewer than 5 days off sick ever and they are in Y11 and Y7 now.
