Please agree with me - it's my first day back at work today and I'm feeling very grumpy.

Am I not right in thinking that the festive season doesn't actually end until tomorrow evening (specifically sunset on the 6th December)? It pisses me right off that nowadays 'Christmas' starts as soon as Guy Fawkes night is over and then finishes abruptly on Boxing Day.

The first day of Christmas is - well - Christmas Day, funnily enough, and the last day is tomorrow MNHQ!

Anyway, I'm still celebrating until tomorrow even if nobody else is

YANBU Xmas Sad

SaucyMare · 05/01/2015 14:55

i fully agree with you, it really annoys me. it makes the culmination christmas day. I am sure some people pack away once the pressies are open, as that is what christmas is isn't... opening pressies.

Ok then, it still works. But I'm still not happy that it's no longer being 'advertised' as an option...

Does that mean I can use it all year?

They may just be taking an atheist standpoint. If they were aware of English culture and Christianity they would know that you never take any decorations down until epiphany which is 6 Jan. They may instead regard Christmas as something to do with shopping and getting into debt rather than about God etc.

IamTitanium · 05/01/2015 14:59

FFS! Xmas Smile

SaucyMare · 05/01/2015 15:18

our churches epiphany party is tomorrow, isn't that the end?

DiaryOfAWimpyMum · 05/01/2015 15:23

Xmas Smile I'm still celebrating, until tomorrow.

ilovesooty · 05/01/2015 15:27

It finished ages ago. Some of us were back at work on 29th and I was sick of Christmas in any case.

CeCeLaine · 05/01/2015 15:34

12th night tonight, decorations down before sunset on the 5th, ready for the start of Epiphany tomorrow. So yes the festive season is over.

RustyBear · 05/01/2015 15:37
