We have had lots of friends and relatives over to stay and for dinner over Christmas. It is lovely to see them all but why do they always bring a totally crap bottle of New World wine with them?
I have in my kitchen 10 bottles of vile red and white wine. Should I pour it all down the sink, use it for cooking or give it back to them next time I visit? Any other options would be considered!

If you ever see Wairau River, snap it up, it's gorgeous.

I find too that you can't pick a wine in the price thinking the more you pay the better it is. I get Kim crawfords as an everyday drinking wine. In canada it was $20-24 a bottle, here in the states we can get it for $10-12. And I like to say, I was having a chat with or hanging out with Kim last night when I drink it.

I think the price thing does apply if you're in the country where the wine was made.

But you're right, if it's been imported, then price does go out the window a bit, and makes it harder to compare.
