to disobey these instructions?

I get a steak in a shrink-wrapped tray from the local convenience store. Instructions say to remove from packaging and place on a large plate for 10 minutes before cooking.

A LARGE plate? Pfft! I'm such a rebel, I put it on a SMALL plate for 10 minutes.

Take that you authoritarian food nazis!

I cooked my pie for 29 minutes. The instructions said 30-35.

And I ignored the 'serving suggestion' on the box of chocolates I had. I didn't put them on a plate - I tipped them all into my mouth :)

I dropped my beef today. True story.

zoemaguire · 04/01/2015 20:42

I cooked brown lentils for 20 minutes without soaking them, instead of soaking them then cooking for 90 minutes, as the packet instructions said. clearly they were written by somebody who has never cooked lentils before.

I get my kicks where I can these days.

capsium · 04/01/2015 20:47

I've had shampoo that said rinse and repeat. I didn't repeat. Up the revolution!

slithytove · 04/01/2015 20:52

My puff pastry was meant to be out of the fridge 20 minutes before rolling.

I only waited 19

Waltonswatcher · 04/01/2015 20:53

It's too late for tea!

slithytove · 04/01/2015 21:03

? Who was that for

Slothlorian · 04/01/2015 21:30

I wish I knew how to attach photos. The sticker on my asda chicken instructed. . . .
'Do Not wash and cook thoroughly'
I disobeyed these instructions for fear of food poisoning!

WrigleysBum · 04/01/2015 21:32

Arf @ Oddfod!

SistersOfPercy · 04/01/2015 22:49

You are doing it wrong. Proper steak cooking instructions are as follows:

Retrieve packet from fridge
Hand to dh
Sit down with cuppa whilst he cooks it

PecanNut · 04/01/2015 22:55

All who mention ASDA plates - are they good then?

I need some new crockery...

wowfudge · 04/01/2015 22:58

I'm sure Asda plates are fine. Just don't cook a pie on one and give it to your friend...in case she brings it on a night out. And beware the rogue plate you've never seen before which appears in the cupboard.

ImperialBlether · 04/01/2015 23:00

Well, my daughter crocheted a hat that resembled an extra large condom as a result of not following instructions, so let that be a warning to you!

allowme · 04/01/2015 23:04

I went in the out door at the library. And then I went out the in door. [smirk]

SistersOfPercy · 04/01/2015 23:13

I obeyed instructions once. I cooked rice, it said boil for twenty minutes then stand in pan.
I got third degree burns on my feet.

Never again!

QOD · 04/01/2015 23:18

Sisters I rarely actually lol but just did

my friend shared the new chicken Iinstructions today on Facebook about not washing. I rebelled by rinsing a bag of 36 chicken dippers

PecanNut · 05/01/2015 09:55

ah thanks wowfudge, must have missed that thread...

NorwaySpruce · 05/01/2015 10:04

I don't rinse pearl barley, I just chuck it into the casserole dish and hope for the best.

Oh, despicable me.
