What adverts get you riled and why?

My top 3 are:

1. toilet roll!
Who is NOT buying this stuff, really? I know the bog roll defenders will say the companies are just promoting their own brands, but don't we just buy the best brand on offer?

2. Watch this fab new show...
...on a different channel, that you don't get. I have been caught out on this one sooo many times of an evening

3. The 'I use this and it is sooo great'
I never believe any of the actors/actresses because they always look so wooden, bored, falsely gleeful or just plain crazy. Does anyone believe them?

Oh, I had forgotten that one! I can't believe it hasn't been taken off. I have to mute it when DD is in the room. I really don't want her repeating that at school and not knowing what it means.

Cow and Gate - "Mums your doing great" - though they have dropped the 'mums' bit though the website name is the same.

Any of the adverts with nicole scherzinger, I find her so very irritating

I came on to say Trivago but twelve million previous posters have beaten me to it. And rightly so. I despise those ads.
"I want to go toooo...............Venice" or wherever ALWAYS elicits the same response from me. "Well fuck off there then".
Awful baby voiced, hair wafting girl with her bloody mun-sporting, hipster boyfriend. JUST FUCK OFF THE PAIR OF YOU ATROCIOUS CUNTS!!!!

beardy man bun boyfriend; why is a grown woman allowing herself to be carried through the hotel corridors? She's not ill! She's capable of brushing her own teeth..we see her doing it. We know she can walk. Why so funny to knock him with her toothbrush or whatever it is they're doing?

Buzz I had to stop myself in my tracks the other day when DSD (8) was here. Dreadful as came on with its breathy "I want to go toooo...." nonsense, I launched into my usual reply "well fuuuhhhhh..... "
I must learn to rein it in a bit but they are SUCH ANNOYING PEOPLE!!!!

I hate the safestyle adverts, had them around once to quote - they didn't seem to get the concept of getting several quotes, their prices are over double than competition unless you do the whole house and get the deal, that comes down to something closer to competition. We had the whole, I have the manager on the phone now and if you take the deal now you can get it at X price.

We held out and then eventually asked them to leave the property.

Buzzardbird I complained to the ASA about it 2 weeks ago for exactly that reason - I heard back yesterday that I was one of over 2000 similar complaints amazed it's not MANY more so they are now going to speak to the body that approves these ads & then investigate - in the mean time it's still left to be viewed on soddin TV

I think 2000 is actually quite a lot. Most people (including me) will complain and tut but never do anything about it. Think I will do it.

Ha! Just went to report it and they are not accepting any more complaints as they have received "a significant amount of complaints" and are already investigating it.

I hate all the radio adverts on Classic FM, but especially the Prime Location one which implies you only deserve a nice house if you've had a very well-paying job, and the fucking Audi man with his bizarre half-American over-pronunciation bullshit. Shut UP!!!

I really hate the vanish advert where she wipes different food on the fabric samples and then shows how amazing vanish is at removing the 'stains' The gravy has been there a whole of 15 seconds. It isn't a stain! I could probably spit wash it and get the same results.

That Barry Scott twat and his rollercoaster are insanely annoying too. As are the 12 hour long mineral make up adverts.

The sun life over 50s ad does it for me ! With bloody Michael Parkinson - " hey , keep paying up until you die, or you get sod all " - and you could well end up paying more than you get back - but at least you'll have a free Parker pen !

Aaah, maybe I misunderstood the reply they sent me & that's how it works then Buzzardbird. Maybe they need more than 2000 complaints before they investigate.

I'm still amazed it took the ASA so long & they don't suspend the ad pending investigation though - especially as the email I got in reply let me look at booking .coms previous ASA record & they've been in trouble a few times before - rubbish system
