To think some supermarkets deliberately con us

It's happened so many times, the price at the till doesn't tally with the price on the shelf. When you query it you see that the item at the price you thought it was is slightly different to the one that has the price shown. This is done with lots of products. For example yesterday I picked up a hair dye which was priced at £4.99, but at the till was £6.50. On checking, the assistant said "no the £4.99 one was only for a particular shade" (which incidently had sold out), we eventually found the £6.50 label but it was nowhere near the product. Aibu to say that these are deliberate dirty tactics by the supermarkets. There are loads of other instances like this too numerous to mention.

You pay extra for the convenience, TooOldFor Glitter. The convenience of them putting the onions in a bag for you Confused

TooOld next time you're comparing the prices of loose versus pre-packed fruit and veg have a look at the peppers - the only example I know where the pack of 3 is consistently cheaper than 3 loose peppers. Depending on the season the loose peppers are sometimes larger, but that's not always the case. Having said that, if I have the choice I go for the value pack of 'ugly' peppers - even better value!

You need your wits about you in the fruit and veg bit. All those yellow stickers saying 3 for £2 are intermingled with 3 for 2 offers. The numbers are the same so it's not always obvious! Sneaky bastards.

harrin it was a con because it wasn't clearly excluded from the offer . They had the offer stickers all over the shelf. This was on the same shelf, just without the yellow label. The offer ran for a shelf and a half - it could have been put next to the non included ones -which would make you question it - but it wasn't. Its normal price was the same as the other polishes, it looked the same as the other polishes. The labels weren't very big - as wide as a bottle of nail varnish and bunched together. You would be forgiven even on close inspection to think the shelf stackers may have missed putting the yellow one on there, it had fallen off or was overlapping. Even the fact that it was empty suggests that other shoppers may well have 'fallen' for it. I think that the first assistant also thought it was included says a lot too...

I did the petrol thing at Asda today. Advertised at 107.7 and 1 liter was 108!

Of course it was, because that is absolutely correct

How to round to 2 decimal places is basic mathematics.
