To kill my mother??

Keepswimming123 · 01/01/2015 06:49

Just had a two hour stand off with my mother as she doesn't like my boyfriend so hid his shoes?! And then told him to leave... Whilst having still hidden his shoes. He has finally escaped, but I am sat wondering wtf I did in a past life to deserve this... I moved back in with her after my dad died. He moved out previously, I can understand why... ARGHHHHHHH

Is she ill?

PrettyLittleMitty · 01/01/2015 07:37

How old are you? Is your mum unwell? Sounds weird Confused

BingBongMerrilyOnHigh · 01/01/2015 07:41

If she's very difficult to live with, can you move out?

ChippingInLovesChristmasLights · 01/01/2015 07:43

Move out.

If she needs help or care, organise it from a distance.

KnackeredMerrily · 01/01/2015 08:07

You need move out before you snap and really mean it!!

Keepswimming123 · 01/01/2015 13:50

I know. She is not 'ill' as such, but her behaviour has become increasingly erratic and odd. When I say odd I mean bonkers. Some of the stuff she was screeching about at 5am this morning was just complete and utter lunacy, saying boyfriend had ruined my life, had contributed to my dad's death, had split me up with my (not very nice) ex. She demanded he leave, but refused to give him back his shoes?!? Turns out she had put them in the bin...

Dementia?

AnnieLobeseder · 01/01/2015 13:52

That is not remotely normal behaviour, even if she doesn't like your boyfriend. Has she been checked for neurological conditions?

I doubt she is evil op, she sounds ill?

Oldraver · 01/01/2015 13:58

Has this been going on for a while, you have posted about her before ?

I would be finding somewhere to live away from her

GraysAnalogy · 01/01/2015 14:04

Does she drink, any medications?

BathshebaDarkstone · 01/01/2015 14:04

I was going to say dementia too. Flowers

GraysAnalogy · 01/01/2015 14:06

Dementia can cause confusion and the like but I've never seen it manifest itself like this.

greenfolder · 01/01/2015 14:14

how old is she?

i would leave tbh. Do you have somewhere to go? decide 2015 is the year of you

ArsenicFaceCream · 01/01/2015 14:19

Yes you've posted before, maybe.

A flat you had to sell?

You need different living arrangements/medical intervention.

BastardGoDarkly · 01/01/2015 14:21

Are there any calm moments where you could sit her down, tell her she's actually worrying you with this bizarre behaviour.

How old are you op?

BuzzardBirdRoast · 01/01/2015 14:28

She doesn't sound well and I don't think coriander is going to put this one right. That is worrying behaviour.

Blackout234 · 01/01/2015 14:35

Where does your partner live? how long have you been together? can you move in with him? can you afford to move out independently?

Sallyingforth · 01/01/2015 14:53

It sounds like your partner is living with you in your mother's house. Is that right? If so she does have some say in whether he stays there. She should be polite about it of course, but if they really are incompatible your best course is for you to move out.

Keepswimming123 · 01/01/2015 15:02

No he's not living here. It's a complicated situation. But she really is the pits now... I am hiding in bed as I can't face her today.

Sounds like a form of mental illness -

RoastingYourChestnutsHurtsAlot · 01/01/2015 15:15

Sounds like she needs medical attention

birobenny · 01/01/2015 15:37

Why are you not engaging with the suggestion that she may have dementia or mental health issues? Is it easier to just blame her and hide in bed?
