Aside from giving my DD a sandwich at 11 weeks and wondering why she didn't eat it... And finding a 3 week old ungrateful of her Christmas presents....

Tonight we've come home just after midnight, and found that both DD's are happily in bed. Beautiful. DD1 is in my bed but that's okay...

I go up there, and she's in leggings and a jumper. Bizarre PJs but again, okay. Until I think... I recognise those clothes... And they look pretty tight!!

They've taken off DD2's clothes and put them on DD1 as pyjamas.

And yes.

Vice versa.

(Happy new year! Especially to 1 year old DD2 in her bedtime party dress!!)

I assume that the 3 week old didn't write her grandparent's a proper 'thank you' note? Shameful!!! What sort of hooligan infant does that!!!

As far as tonight….have you checked the liquor cabinet?

Frankly, I wouldn't be leaving my children with them. Far, far too stupid to be left with small children. Proven by taking off their daytime clothes and swapping them over. I'd be taking them to the Drs.

violetlights · 01/01/2015 03:48

Brilliant!! You win! Grin

Gatheringthoughtstothink · 01/01/2015 04:01

You win the internet, only for tonight though, the kids won't remember the madness which is as it should be, you however can snigger about it till next year at least!

WilsonWilsonWoman · 01/01/2015 05:01

think skild is pissed Grin

that is mental behaviour! How the hell did they manage to drag up DH?!

Ifyourawizardwhydouwearglasses · 01/01/2015 05:25

Will you ask them about it? I'd be intrigued to hear their reasoning!

PrettyLittleMitty · 01/01/2015 06:44

And I thought my mil was weird. You win!

vvviola · 01/01/2015 06:57

That is pretty weird!

Weirdest we've had here is giving a polystyrene phone (the type that the put inside a phone case to show you how the phone fits) to a 1 year old and expecting her not to chew it (and then wondering why I instantly took it away)
Or
The Case of the Shopping Trolleys: she bought 2 of those old style shopping trolleys (the sort you used to see elderly ladies taking to the shops) for DDs (3 and 7) to use as carry on bags on our upcoming trip. (Totally unsuitable). I told her they wouldn't work back in July and she brought them back (I was there when she did) and yet they reappeared on Christmas Day with a cheery "look what you can bring on the plane with you". Bizarre.

Thumbnutstwitchingonanopenfire · 01/01/2015 07:16

That's pretttttty weird, yes.
I can't imagine what was going through their head to squidge the 4yo into the 1yo's clothes! Maybe they were high on glue and thought it would be funny?

Seriously though, I'd reconsider leaving your children alone with them too. Too odd.

Purplepoodle · 01/01/2015 07:53

Bit odd but heard gp doing that type of thing before esp when they let the kids choose what they want to wear to bed. My mum struggles to tell size difference in clothes between my dc and there a two year gap between each one. I did come down once morning to find mum dressing my 6 year old in his nearly 4 year old brothers clothes - she then asked me why they didn't look right. Lol

fuzzpig · 01/01/2015 08:07

Hmmm yes you win!

florentina1 · 01/01/2015 08:11

I was once in great admiration for my DiL as she had got my Gd dressed before she left for work when I was overnighting and babysitting . I thought what a lovely little outfit. When she got home she asked why she was still in her pyjamas.

ArsenicFaceCream · 01/01/2015 08:14

Nope, they are from Surrey, same as us!

Jodie1982 · 01/01/2015 08:59

They gave your 11wk old a sandwich!? I really wouldn't b comfortable in them babysitting ever again after that.

nope sorry have read of lots of really evil nasty MILs in here - yours just sound nuts but thanks for posting Xmas Grin - are they senile or drunk?

your 3 week old one certainly needs some training ... too funny

MinceSpy · 01/01/2015 09:37

You actually leave your precious children in the care of these people!

boxoftissues · 01/01/2015 09:41

My MIL gave DS who was around 5 at the time a (sharp) glass chess set for his birthday!

I would have to ask if the dc went to bed ok? And then say that it was the oddest thing, dd1 was wearing dd2's clothes! And then pause and look at them....
