To wish I waited to have kids.

I had my first dc when I was 27 because it was what I really wanted. I have 3 now - they are 3,5,7. I am 35 and now a lot of my friends are having babies and I feel broody and a little jealous. I enjoyed my babies but it was hard work and I feel that it went by in a blur. I feel that the best part of my life is over andcibsjould have waited to experience it.

theword I have a friend who re-married at 37 wen she had a 11 and 9 year old. Her new DH never had any children and so she agreed to have another as he wanted one. She is quite honest about the fact that although she loves her youngest DC (now 3), in an ideal world she would never have been born. She said it's much harder this time around, even though last time she was raising 2 little ones on her own.

Had DD one month after my 33rd birthday and 2 years later we've been trying for DC2 for nearly 6 months . I was one of the last out of all our close friends to have a child and feel a little envious that many of them have now had their second or third kids and have completed their families while we still have to do it all again! I do sometimes wish that we'd started our family a year or two earlier, but circumstances just didn't pan out that way, and we made the decisions that were best for us at the time. I would bet money that your friends are equally envious of you for your lack of sleepless nights and DC who can entertain themselves more!

I think children area bit like an out of control time machine...it really drags when you are sitting through one of their "performances" and just whizzes by at others

I also believe that they suck the energy out of parents and prematurely age us...that might just be me though

YANBU to feel sad and want that time back, I would do it all again (just not now)
