Elsa's fucking shoe

TeenageMutantNinjaTurtle · 27/12/2014 09:37

I have just spent an HOUR looking for Elsa's missing shoe. It's only the 27th and it's already cost me an hour. I now have both shoes. Would I be unreasonable to glue the fuckers on, or hide them until she's old enough to find them herself?!?

(in case anyone is in a similar predicament, it was in the basket on the front of the hideous pink bike bloody Santa Claus got her for Christmas).

I am partially-sighted and looking for 'lost' small toys is a fucking nightmare. Both kids have perfect vision, but seem unable to look for anything. We, too, have 'lost' Elsa's shoes in the last few days - but mainly because DD insists on her wearing one of Elsa's and one of Rapunzel's.

The most horrible tidy-up experience was when I was clearing up loom bands. I picked up a cluster of black ones which suddenly started moving. It wasn't loom bands, but a huge fuck-off spider.

Ratbagcatbag · 27/12/2014 21:56

Good god Arya. All loom bands would be banned after that.

PrincessOfChina · 27/12/2014 22:00

In our house Elsa is wearing Anna's clothes and vice versa. Except Anna is slightly slimmer than Elsa and now they're both looking a bit trampy.

AryaUnderfoot · 27/12/2014 22:03

Ratbag luckily the DCs have lost interest in loom bands.

My DSis, who has the same eyesight condition as me, once stood on a loom that had been inconsiderately left on a same-coloured rug by one of her DDs. I think there was a lot of swearing.

threepiecesuite · 27/12/2014 22:06

Took Arna and Elsa to a relatives yest and Elsa came home minus one ice skate. Don't hold out much hope Sad

midnightmoomoo · 27/12/2014 22:14

I don't know what you're complaining about woman........I once found a Barbie shoe in IKEA!!!! Ikea, I tell you!!! (We now have a strict 'no taking toys to Ikea' policy, but that's not as weird as seeing a girl in their restaurant with her real life guinea pig!)

Glue them on now!

divafever24 · 27/12/2014 22:35

On Christmas day I was looking for Elsa`s shoe just an hour after her arrival. They have now been removed! I'm off to get some super glue, never thought of that. Anyone know how to keep the crown on?

Honeydragon · 27/12/2014 22:37

Glue Guinea Pigs or Barbie shoes?

AryaUnderfoot · 27/12/2014 22:37

Thank The Lord that Polly Pockets have gone out of fashion.

We once lost a dress within an hour of opening the Christmas present. 'Twas never seen again.

tanukiton · 27/12/2014 22:47

LOST EREADER try standing on a chair in the middle of each room. I always put things up high safe and forget where.

threepiecesuite · 27/12/2014 22:51

Think Polly Pockets are back in. DD got a 'Tree House Wall Party'. Damn, those pieces are small!

KittieCat · 27/12/2014 23:08

This thread has given me comfort that I am not the only one unnaturally disturbed by lost things!
DH hates it when I go on a search for something.
The positive is that he's now more careful not to lose them in the first place!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 27/12/2014 23:16

I removed Elsa's shoes and Anna's gloves as I was unpacking them! however I can top the loss of shoes dd2 managed to pull the leg off a my little Pony doll. I then spent half an hour trying to get the stupid thing back on!! then it happened to another one.... beginning to think super bendy legs on dolls is a bad thing...

MummyPig24 · 28/12/2014 06:53

One hide and squeak egg had disappeared by the middle of Christmas bloody day! We've been through the rubbish and we still haven't found it. Dh is so distressed he wants to buy another set. Where the same thing will happen again.

NoMilkNoSugar · 28/12/2014 07:27

Back in august we brought DS a toy from a charity shop as it was such a bargain and couldn't be missed. He was told it was for Christmas and he saw it nearly everyday in my wardrobe. DP wrapped it up, it all went into the magical tardis cupboard under the stairs and hadn't reappeared! I watched him wrap it, I put it away yet it's a mystery as to where it is. DS is hoping it turns up before next august.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 30/12/2014 16:10

DD's Elsa is also without her shoes. Although DD (who has also been dressed as Elsa since Christmas Day) doesn't seem to mind.

School starts again soon, right?

Lambzig · 30/12/2014 16:39

Weirdly the Elsa shoe we lost at my friends flat a two hour drive away (and box was opened at friends flat, so never at my house) turned up in the keys bowl in the hall at home this morning. We are confused.

Now where is that superglue?

Mummypig, I think I have spent at least 15 minutes every day for the last 18 months looking for one/various bit of hide and squeak eggs. DS loves them, but scatters them to the four winds.

meglet · 30/12/2014 17:46

DS lost his Pixel Bricks Snowman.

He 'hid' the bricks from his sister in a box that was then put in the car. The tiddly pixel bricks fell through the slits in the box and are now in the car boot, somewhere, under various blankets, jump leads and holiday sand.

monsterfaery · 30/12/2014 18:09

When my dd emptied out her stocking on Christmas day she found a disney princess shoe that she lost last Christmas lurking in the bottom. I have checked all stockings very carefully this year before packing them away. Grin

CallMeExhausted · 30/12/2014 18:31

We keep them on with tiny elastic bands, and if they go missing, she goes barefoot...

TeenageMutantNinjaTurtle · 30/12/2014 18:33

ha! monsterfaery that is a most excellent find. I will check this year's stockings very carefully before putting them away.

Elsa's shoes are on a shelf and she hasn't mentioned them since I found them.

we are, however, on a hunt for the credit card from her new cash register.

sigh.

I remember a few years back using superglue to permanently attach Belle's shoes - its the only way to retain them both.

FushandChups · 30/12/2014 21:11

I appear to have lost about 10 Fireman Sam figures - given to me by a friend for DS.. so poor sod only had Station Officer Steele and a massive Tom and Penny instead of half of Pontypandy. . I cannot for the life of me find them!! So many, just gone!

dancingwitch · 30/12/2014 21:42

Could we set up some sort of swap thread? For example, I have five bottoms and three shells of hide & squeak eggs and DC2 is about to grow out of them so, if someone is missing one of the ones we still have, they could have mine. Likewise, I have umpteen Playmobil flip flops.
I would like a fireman from the ElC light & sound fire engine. We lost it within an hour of it being opened. We moved house two months later & I thought we would find it then but we didn't.
