You'd hate us here. Dd1 is finally old enough to really get into it this year.
The elf had a leaving party last night with the other toys
We've got Reindeer dust and candy cane seeds to plant and the elf will be leaving a Christmas eve hamper tonight.
Plus we are following santa on something called norad Xmas Wink
Merry Christmas.

Thanks for the NORAD reminder, OP. Had forgotten about it but just spent a magical 20 minutes looking at the website with my 3 year old.

Merry Christmas

I know exactly what you mean, not just on Christmas stuff either, but people sharing the exact same meme on facebook like it's something new and hilarious when you've seen it 20 times. ARGH.

Yes I know I am BU because it's new to them and they don't know if everyone else has seen it (nor should they really care, TBH), but sometimes I get so pissed off with it.

Stupid facebook. It's all facebook's fault, really. If it wasn't for facebook we wouldn't have seen it 20 times and it would have been new and funny when our close relative or friend showed/told it to us, rather than us having seen it on various acquaintances's feeds three months previously.

Poor Hoover's son, having to walk to his stocking Xmas Sad Xmas Grin

I don't actually know what NORAD is, but I think I've confused it with NORAID and NATO in the past.

Not really anything to do with the thread but...I recently learn how the NORAD Santa tracker got started. Google it. It's a great story.

I don't care where Santa is. But i wish he really did all the present wrapping and delivering.

You do realise there are children born every day don't you? So whilst not firsts for you, some things are for others. Or are you one of those people who respond to every "we did such and such" with "been there, done that" . Because that is what's annoying.

Did someone say candy cane seeds......what might they be? I hate the reindeer food but candy cane seeds sound amazing.

NORAD tracks Santa has the most wonderful (true) back story - enjoy it.

The fact that the ISS is clearly visible this year just after Dark over Europe is a fluke and nothing to do with the NORAD tracker

Ha,. just checked and NORAID does have its own website. Wonder how many accidental hits it gets at this time of year Grin I must say, it didn't look very friendly or festive

I like kitten Kong on page 1. What SATs USS is Santa? We were looking at film from it over breakfast (sea, cloud, more sea) as we found an app for it.

Does anyone know if I can make an apple pie in an ordinary (1 inch deep) cake tin? I've lost my lose bottom one.

It drives me mad when people say that they made snowy Santa footprints on Christmas Eve - don't their children notice that it isn't snowing outside? It would make more sense to make sooty footprints or even muddy footprints, unless it is actually snowing which is rare!

Report
Chocolateteacake · 24/12/2014 15:52

Why should you care what people do? If they snuck into your house and made sooty footprints on your carpets then I'd understand.
