But the programmes themselves are the same formulaic cheap tripe that UK tv has become utterly dependent on.

It's either utter crap reality schlockfests (CBB, I'm a Celeb etc), talentless wannabees (Voice, X Factor etc etc etc), celebs doing something fucking pointless that couch potatoes then vote on (Strictly, Dancing on Ice), quiz shows or frickin cooking.

Massive, massive yawn. The tv companies make programs for dribbling fools and unfortunately it seems that they have absolutely hit on their target audience.
