Seems a little over the top having a fight but surely this just goes to show people need to deal with kids on flights?

Don't worry, it's just the DMs daily "the Chinese are barbarians" story. They like to publish something new every day, be it animal cruelty or child murder or...

ElphabaTheGreen · 18/12/2014 18:31

...or outrage over immigrant lesbian breastfeeders.

Women in general kind of suck as well.

CupidStuntSurvivor · 18/12/2014 18:31

And how precisely should this woman have 'dealt with' her crying baby? I don't imagine she was completely unbothered by its crying.

ghostyslovesheep · 18/12/2014 18:33

it doesn't really 'go to show people need to deal with kids on flights' it just shows that 2 random women lost their rag on a flight

and yes ...Daily Mail (hence I wont click the link)

5madthings · 18/12/2014 18:34

Or maybe it goes to show people need to be tolerant, am sure it wasn't fun for the mother that her baby was reclining without other passengers having a go and then reclining their seats to further cramp the space she had to deal with the baby.

NotSayingImBatman · 18/12/2014 18:36

Yep, she should have taken the baby outside to calm down.

Territt16 · 18/12/2014 18:51

They had every right to recline there chair!

NickiFury · 18/12/2014 18:54

Anyone who tells a mother to shut her baby up is an arsehole.

Anyone who reclines their seat when there is a stressed mother with a crying baby behind them is an arsehole.

They may have had the right to recline their seats but this does not stop them from being selfish arseholes.

5madthings · 18/12/2014 19:03

It was a two hour flight fgs it's not like you need to sleep. If you can see the person behind you is having s hard time with a fractious baby why would you recline your seat giving them less space to be able to deal with that?

DontWorrryBaldrickHasACunningP · 18/12/2014 19:13

What would you like people to do with their their children on flights gag or drug them? Or should people with children just not travel?

Sometimes you just need to suck it up.

As for reclining their chairs yes they had the right to do so but it seems to have been an act of retaliation.

TooHasty · 18/12/2014 19:16

Everyone used to use Phenergan , is that not done now?

purplemurple1 · 18/12/2014 19:19

Am I the only person who just locks there arm striaght, against the back of the seat in front so the person thinks their seat won't recline. Can't be doing with idiots who recline their seat without looking to see who is behind them, and if its practical. Yes they may have the right but if someone sticks their head under my chin I will rest my drink and book on it, I mean what choice do you have.

Not clicked the link, but I doubt the mum was egging the baby on, being stck in close quarters with a crying kid is no fun for anyone.

JassyRadlett · 18/12/2014 19:24

Everyone used to use Phenergan , is that not done now?

You ever seen a kid react the other way on Phenergan? Not something you'd wanr near you on a flight.

Plus, drugging a kid for a short flight? I won't even consider it for long-haul.

Bulbasaur · 18/12/2014 19:36

Actually it just goes to show that people need to learn to be more tolerant of babies crying. It is not a well kept secret that babies might be on the plane and that they might indeed cry.

This may come as a shock. Make sure you're sitting before you read this.

With modern technology we have invented a device that can cancel out the sound of a crying baby: headphones. Shock

Imagine. A small $5 item that could make airplane flights that much more tolerable.

VikingLady · 18/12/2014 19:43

I've never heard a crying baby that bothered me as much as the adult man who sat behind me on a coach trip abroad who'd converted to Islam whilst in prison for GBH, and who wanted to share the good news.

I'd have been grateful for the baby!

I think most things printed in the DM can be accepted wholesale without any form of scrutiny. The quality of the journalism is that high. I'm going to build my house out of copies, one day.

Andrewofgg · 18/12/2014 20:04

You must of course realise that the women who complained came into the world as fully-formed adults, except that the sense of decency was missing from the production line the day that batch went through!

Wishfulmakeupping · 18/12/2014 20:07

What is wrong with people?!
Of course they were out if order who shouts at someone because their baby is crying- total fucking knobs that's who :(

Wolfiefan · 18/12/2014 20:08

See this is why I always store my children in the overhead locker when flying!
Grin

Andrewofgg · 18/12/2014 20:18

Wolfiefan Really? I thought that's what the baggage hold is for Grin Grin

ElphabaTheGreen · 18/12/2014 20:55

I put mine out on the wing. With a dummy and an extra blanket, obvs.

Wolfiefan · 18/12/2014 20:58

Elphaba you'll spoil them you know!!!
Amazed no one has come on to claim their child co pilots the plane. MN children are so gifted doncha know!!!!

ChameleonCircuit · 18/12/2014 20:59

I don't take mine on planes. I leave them at home. They have their own mini fridge, it's fine Wink
