To wonder what are the most [shock] family habits you've ever encountered?

Mine are: an ex years ago was one boy with two sisters and one night we got talking about what they called their genitalia when they were growing up. I was flabbergasted when he said "Oh, I had a 'cock' and my sisters had 'minges'" ShockShock

However that was not as bad as the family BBQ (same family) where we were all sitting around a table having a lovely lunch; me, ex-bf, his parents, sisters, sisters' boyfriends and then ex-MIL casually mentioned that she hadn't woken up till 9am that morning.
"That's not true," says ex-FIL promptly, "I heard you having a shit at 5." Shock Shock Shock Shock did not cover it.

We were a bunch of strangers earlier, we still are now so why not putting the picture up again ?

Wealldancelamacarena · 18/12/2014 19:58

Not trying to be funny !

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 18/12/2014 20:00

You have reposted it despite being asked not to by MNHQ, and out of deliberate petty nastiness, it seems to me, Weall. That is not funny, in my book.

CooCooCachoo · 18/12/2014 20:01

Oh what a shame, such a lovely, funny, lighthearted thread all gone sour.

Wealldancelamacarena · 18/12/2014 20:04

Come on...

To wonder what are the most [shock] family habits you've ever encountered?
CheerfulYank · 18/12/2014 20:12

That's really not on. Hmm

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 18/12/2014 20:13

I would prefer an 'Oops - seems like I fucked up - sorry everyone' to a kitten picture, tbf.

TheNewSchmoo · 18/12/2014 20:19

My ex had a glass shower cubicle directly opposite the toilet. His mum used to go in to take a crap while he was having a shower. They'd have a nice chat apparently...

Same woman used to eat her dinner in just her brasil that she didn't soul gravy down her top before going to bingo....

Same woman (on the rare occasion under much duress) if I had to stay overnight after a night out.... Would shout very loudly from the bedroom "I'm turning the telly up so you can do your stuff.... You've 15 minutes.... Get on with it"

Apparently I was the weird one for finding it odd.....

ScrambledeggLDCcakeBOAK · 18/12/2014 20:22

our going to get the whole thread deleted!

It was fun and funny to read and now your making it a Nasty thread thanks for that.

IAmLiftzilla · 18/12/2014 20:31

Weall - why do that? Not funny. Not cool.

LadyMaryofDownton · 18/12/2014 20:32

Ah bloody hell, I was having suck a good laugh at this thread! Don't ruin it!!!

Wealldancelamacarena · 18/12/2014 20:38

It won't be deleted I'm sure, lots of posters have been asking to see that picture, so I just post it again and again for them. It's the first time in 9 years of mumsnet that I have been a baddie ! Surely it must count for something Smile

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 18/12/2014 20:49

An 'Oops - seems like I fucked up - sorry everyone' would count for more, but I am not holding my breath.

horseygeorgie · 18/12/2014 20:51

I am a serious lurker. I was once part of the group known as the 'tumble tarts'. I have unearthed my sign in just to say 1 thing.....

I CAN'T BELIEVE I MISSED THAT PIC!!!!!!!

Btw, my 2 cents worth..
My dad (a vicar), used to randomly bark at people going round the supermarket like a dog. The busier the better. I only remembered this as he started again on Saturday in a very busy cafe!

MincePionaMumsnet · 18/12/2014 20:54

Hi folks. Thanks for all your reports on this. We've deleted that photo for a third time and really hope never to see it again. It's going to haunt our nightmares as it is. Let's get this thread back on track now - it was great!

Wealldancelamacerena we've sent you an email. Would you mind having a little read, please?

winewolfhowls · 18/12/2014 22:06

Nc ...

I am a wine howler. Is this not a thing?

AlpacaStockingOnChristmasEve · 18/12/2014 22:30

Dammit. I'm gutted I missed that pic but by the sounds of it, I would have got into a lot of trouble with the IT dept at work :)

QuickSilverFairy · 18/12/2014 22:32

We have witnessed MN history in the making...Kitty and the Fishnet Fanjo will now become part of MN lexicon..trotted out by name changing poster's when they are trying to prove they have been here forever... Naice ham, penis beaker..Pussy Cat..

AcrossthePond55 · 18/12/2014 22:35

Hmmmm, Kitty and the Fishnet Fanjo…….didn't they have a big hit single back in the '70s? Grin What a great name for a band!!!

QuickSilverFairy · 18/12/2014 22:47

AcrossThePond, are you sure you are not speaking of Josie and the PussyCats ? Xmas Grin

MrsCosmopifairylight · 18/12/2014 23:18

My friend was recently on holiday with her DH, DD and a life-sized skeleton. They took it out for a day with them in the car, dressed in DFriend/her DD's clothes.

I thought I was strange for talking to the cat!

ColdCottage · 18/12/2014 23:23

Male and female portions. Don't think I'd stand for that

ColdCottage · 18/12/2014 23:34

At Uni there was a girl who would wash and straighten her hair religiously AFTER a big night out - think 3am crazy lady.

Worksallhours · 19/12/2014 00:59

I think I have one ....

When I was young, I had a friend. She was really quite lovely, and, one day, I was asked to tea at their house. Tea was a bit odd as they put the bread and butter straight on the sofa arms without a plate, but hey ... takes allsorts.

After tea, I kinda realised there was something brewing. Her dad got up and was bouncing around, and my friend and her sister and mum started getting all boyed up. Her dad began jumping up around the wall as though he was a boxer, and they were like "Go on, Dad, go on."

And, all of a sudden, he just punched a hole through the stud wall. And they all started cheering.

Turns out it was a thing he did, some sort of Rocky impression where he just punched holes in the internal walls of the house. When I went to the loo not minutes later, rather confused, there were loads of these holes all up the stairs and on the landing at the top.

But that is not the truly weird thing about it all. Oh no, the truly bizarre thing was that the family used these holes as a kind of convenient litter bin, so there were crisp packets and paper towels and allsorts just stuffed into the cavities of the walls through the holes.

Perplexing.

notenoughwine · 19/12/2014 01:55

This thread is great, it's got me feeling much better about my wacky family.

aJumpedUpPantryBoy I would have had to ask her about the poor third son.
