Was my cat being unreasonable?

While I was out earlier, someone tried to deliver a parcel but had to leave a card and return the parcel to the post office. When putting the card through the door I think the cat must have nipped the delivery driver as there was a second card which just read 'Your pet bled my finger'. Cat was inside and letterbox is at waist height. Are they going to sue my ass? WMCBU?

Wowsers! He has a look of Robert Dr Niro about him.

More fool the postman for taking him on.

Hatespiders · 16/12/2014 11:44

In my last house, my lovely neighbour had a ghastly thing for a cat, called bloody 'Billy'. He was one of those fluffy Persian jobs, with a pushed-in face (I'm a Siamese addict myself) He was positively evil and waited in the bushes to lacerate the legs of any passers-by. He got me many a time, and I always went round to see my neighbour carrying a broom to defend myself with. I used dozens of Elastoplasts due to that bloody cat. She thought it was ever so funny, the cow!
Anyway, one day Billy the PsychoCat got the postman in a big way. His legs were streaming with blood and she got an official letter stating she'd have to collect her mail from the Post Office in future as the postie refused to go there any more. She didn't laugh then.
Billy was sent to live with her son. God knows how many people have been ripped apart by that thing.

Cat thinks its a dogGrin a guard one at that. Cnbu, just looking after the family. Ps my cat is ur for pissing everywhere, can we swop?Hmm

StripedCandycaneOss · 16/12/2014 11:59

i get bitten by CandyCat just for scratching my own foot in a suspicious manner....

The postie was clearly provoking him!

LiviaDruscillaAugusta · 16/12/2014 12:47

Hatespiders We have had Siamese since I was a small child - they just used to scare visitors by staring at them! Grin

TooHasty · 16/12/2014 13:17

Royal mail have a duty to provide a safe working environment for their staff and you have a duty of care to visitors to your property.
I think you would be wise to take measures to prevent this happening again.

Hatespiders · 16/12/2014 13:28

Livia, yes, they do have a weird basilisk-like stare don't they?

I'm not a cat-racist. I had a beautiful British Black Shorthair called Augustus and I used to show him at GCCF shows. He eventually won a Best of Breed Premier medal as a neuter, lived to be fifteen and was the most gentle, loving cat. But not as interesting as Siamese. They're totally crazy, are never boring and do all kinds of tricks. And they're so elegant. But they do wee.

JennyBlueWren · 16/12/2014 13:41

Cats are always unreasonable.
Perhaps leave an apology when you go to pick up the parcel.

MrsAlexanderSkarsgard · 16/12/2014 14:11

What a beauty! Smile
He reminds me of my old cat - he was a mammoth beast but would only attack to protect me (the major tin opening/pouch ripping/biscuit dispensing human) and the house.
I reckon the postie was taking too long about it and he just nipped him to hurry him along.

Really *toohasty? Wow. I just assumed my postman wouldn't stick his fingers through.

TheJiminyConjecture · 16/12/2014 15:21

He looks like a right miserable bastard! But he doesn't look like he could reach the letter box, maybe the postie fancies some compo Wink

You need one of these:

ChablisChic · 16/12/2014 15:34

Was he doing when you got home?

WeirdCatLady · 16/12/2014 16:01

Texts from dog are done by a bloke who imagines what his bulldog (who apparently thinks he is batman) would text to him if he could type (and owned a phone).

Is your cat friends with this dog?

Cats are always unreasonable.

They are magnificent.

The postman is an idiot.

TooHasty · 16/12/2014 16:27

Jeez some of the posts on here are disgraceful.I wonder whether the Op will find it quite so amusing when she has to go to the sorting office to collect her mail.

McDirtyPaws · 16/12/2014 16:41

OP I think your cat doesn't need any treats by the look size of him. I have a cat that size, the fecking gannet eats any old shit including curry - that's his favourite.

ReluctantCamper · 16/12/2014 16:42

Do you have something you need to share toohasty?

McDirtyPaws · 16/12/2014 16:44

LOVE batdog...

ACardiganForCat · 16/12/2014 16:49

There's not much I can do. Cat is inside. He's not exactly chasing the postie down the garden path. He has never attacked a visitor to my home unless said visitor has touched him and he always strikes a soft paw warning blow first. I have a toddler who hasnt been eaten alive so he's not that dangerous a beast.

OP posts:
Moln · 16/12/2014 16:55

The OP will just send the cat down tohasty, that'd sort it out (at the sorting office)

ACardiganForCat · 16/12/2014 17:03

Yes Moln, with some dog panniers to carry the letters. I can just see him going for the postmans hand under that window thing they have.
