Aibu to think 18 year olds are adults and should act as so

Dn is 18 and her mum is still getting her up for college and makeing her lunch. She rarely Helps out her mother. She also dose not have a job.

Where did she say that though partridge. I took the OP to mean that 'by the time' people are 18 they should be able to help out a bit around the house and take some responsibility for getting themselves up and out in the morning with a packed lunch.
I don't see anything wrong with that view.

18 year olds should really have more independence at getting to where they need to be and with the correct things. I worked in a College, the students who were used to (at home) everyone doing things for them were completely unprepared and like lambs to the slaughter when dealing with financial forms, communicating with tutors, dealing with employers for placements.

I think most 18 year olds behave like adults a lot of the time but enjoy being pampered and fussed by their parents every once in a while Smile
