on monday is secret santa with the requirement of a hand made gift. i was well prepared and bought a kit online to make a soft toy. so fine and dandy but have spent the afternoon ripping the sodding house to pieces looking for it and cannot find it. i have cried but that is not solving the problem. i have no time left!!!!

so, what can i make that involves some degree of homemadeness that will not be totally crap and is suitable for an adult woman?

please please help- am fairly crap at creative stuff but can cook.

If you get stuck, salt dough ornaments are easy to bake and they only need to look nice, as opposed to actual food that has to taste nice too.

get a jam jar, some olive oil, some feta cheese and dried mixed herbs.

Cut the feta in cubes, sprinkle the herbs on a flat surface and press the cubes on to it, you will end up with cubes covered in herbs - put them in the jar and fill with olive oil.

Do you have any ribbon? Or felt? Personally and backed into a corner, I'd cut two pieces identical in felt i.e star or tree, glue on some buttons or decorations (or quick set of initials - embroider or stick) and sew together, with small clump of highland coo innards as stuffing (optional) with ribbon at tip - hey presto, Xmas tree dec!

if you thought you were up to making the gingerbread for the house, make a gingerbread xmas tree. cut lots of stars, gradually getting smaller, stack them up with icing and put silver balls on the tips

White? Cook it some more, it'll come right.

Kendal Mint cake takes 22 minutes to make according to the recipe, and it is supposed to come out white Grin - also looks simple to do.
