...what is the big deal about Benedict Cumberbatch ? I genuinely don't understand. He seems to be everywhere recently and his engagement garnered a lot of publicity, as well as envy.

Is he a particularly gifted actor ? I'm vaguely aware of some Sherlock Holmes connection. To be blunt he isn't exactly blessed with matinee idol looks.

I really like him, for his u2 photobomb at the Oscars as much as entitled else. He's great in Sherlock. I didn't find him attractive but so what, he's still a good actor. Even if he does remind me of a sheep.

I can't watch him without being freaked by his weird goat eyes.

I found his character in Atonement so creepy I don't think I could ever think of him as sexy. So, no, I don't get it either.

Oh god, he's awful looking. A face only a mother would love as the saying goes, I don't really understand how anyone has a crush on him tbh. Definitely reptilian, definitely agree it looks like his face is going to split open at any given moment .

As lame as this sounds I haven't seen him in anything. Sherlock isn't my cup of tea nor is the hobbit . The Julian Assange movie also put me right off him even more so... I've only seen him in interviews and heard a lot about him so I can't comment on his talent, only shallowly on his looks .

I have to admit I've laughed at the descriptions some have made (and agree with them in a mean girl way!) but don't get it either ...

He is very big news because of Sherlock, and is rightly making as much money as he can at the moment, because he will almost certainly vanish in a few years. He's an okay actor, but for me doesn't set the heather on fire and there is definitely nothing good looking or particularly attractive about him for me.
