Whatever happened to rum and raisin ice cream?

Or am I just trawling for ice cream parlours shopping in all the wrong places?
Any favourite/long-lost/dream flavours? I'm quite partial to a good vanilla but if you could offer me buttered popcorn, or guava, I'd seriously consider marrying you. Oooh: maybe fig and marscapone...?

This is making me nostalgic for cheap 80's icecream. I liked the big tubs that were half chocolate, half banana.

If you are in the north Iceland sell it. They used to sell it here in Nottingham but stopped and ehen I emailed to ask why I was told it doesn't sell south of the border so now it's a northern only thing.

Waitrose do a decent selection including Rum and Raisin. The also do my all time favourite - Hazelnut ahhh.

I made rum and raisin ice cream 2 Christmas's ago, it was yummy but the raisins went super hard like little rum bullets...

It's my favourite flavour - first tasted it in the 70s and it's what I always go for. You can definitely still get it - some versions are better than others

New Forest ice cream do rum & raisin. They sell through local shops and apparently Tesco but that might just be round here.

Rum and raisin tastes bizarrely like nail polish remover. Ditto the rum and raisin fruit corner thing they briefly and ill advisedly did. I have a soft spot for mint choc chip though.

Pistachio is the best flavour - surely everyone knows this

Ocado sell a luxury rum and raisin ice cream as well as a buffalo milk one and the carte d'or one so it exists!

My favourite as a kid was raspberry ripple. Sometimes the shop would be out of it so I had to settle for Neopolitan, hate chocolate ice cream though so would only have the strawberry and vanilla bits and get the rage if a tiny bit of chocolate crept in there .

Love rum and raisin. Was very hopeful of finding a good one in France this summer but no luck.

The Carte D'Or one us yeuch, has a really chemical taste.

I used to love Gino Ginelli Tutti Fruitti icecream.

Dulce de leche - you can get it on waitrose

Again, South Wales (maybe we DO have a fetish for it!) but Hapus ice cream in Machen, and Subzero in Caerphilly, both do a lovely rum and raisin.
