A first world problem, I know. I bought these shoes on a whim, but now I'm not sure. When I tried them on at home, DH's eyebrows simultaneously hit the ceiling. Now he's being over complimentary about them, which means he hates them. Are they actually horrible? I'm not sure...

I think i'll stop bothering looking when it is a Clark's link.

Never like them.

fairyfuckwings · 30/11/2014 16:30

I think they're absolutely gorgeous! I have to say though - I do get the piss taken out of me for my ugly shoes. ..

I'm going to buy them.

smokinggnu · 30/11/2014 16:37

I think they look like 'serious' shoes. The sort someone who doesn't want to be viewed as frivolous would wear.

lupo5 · 30/11/2014 16:43

I like them and actually I have ones that are very similar .They are amazing with trousers and very comfortable....I bought them two years ago in T-Kmax.

mindthegap79 · 30/11/2014 17:17

Juat came back on and very excited at all the replies! I am still torn. I was thinking of wearing them for work with thick black tights and black jumper dress. Grin at the broomstick!

Noooooo. They are pretty horrible.

MyDogSnoopy · 30/11/2014 17:33

They are horrible. Look like granny shoes from the 70's.

WhereYouLeftIt · 30/11/2014 17:41

The consensus seems to be that they are very seventies.

I'd hazard a guess that they are cool/retro to the young 'uns (anybody under 35) and old-fashioned/carrying baggage to those of who wore them first time round! Grin

Hmmm. Ok, they're going back. Any thoughts on these bad boys as an alternative? Last one I promise!

I like them

honeysucklejasmine · 30/11/2014 18:04

Eugh, no. Reminds me of something Louis XVI might wear! Sorry! Sad

honeysucklejasmine · 30/11/2014 18:05

X post... Those plain ones are much better! Smile

cricketpitch · 30/11/2014 18:07

I had a pair of those in 1978 - and they looked great with ribbed tights. I still love them but I can't wear heels now due to an injury. I am sure they will look good on you but it depends on your style, the shape of your legs etc. And the key thing is - do you like them? Do you feel good in them? If you do - go with it!

cricketpitch · 30/11/2014 18:11

Sorry - too slow at typing. I prefer the first ones to the plainer ones but I see you have already decided. Enjoy wearing them!

mindthegap79 · 30/11/2014 18:20

Thank you all! I am looking forward to wearing them. They shall hereafter be my mumsnet shoes Smile

JamTarte · 30/11/2014 18:59

The second pair look like the baddies in a court shoe horror show, sorry. Bleurgh.

The first were much nicer.

Wishtoremainunknown · 30/11/2014 19:07

I like them. Just not the tassels. I'd totally wear them without.

Wishtoremainunknown · 30/11/2014 19:08

I am under 35..they are nice but they ve kind of been around a while in this sort of style now.

ILoveFrogs · 30/11/2014 19:13

I have them as flats! Blush

Wee bit more rounded at the toe but I got mine from Office, tassels and everything. Meh they're comfortable and I actually love them to be honest, although I'm not too keen on the heel on those ones, it looks a bit odd, maybe I'm just used to mine as flats.

burgatroyd · 30/11/2014 19:18

Grim. There are too high and too prim for that style. Like a porn actress might wear if she is playing a librarian

addictedtobass · 30/11/2014 19:26

Not a fan of the second ones either, sorry, unless they are for work- they're just boring and plain.

SophiaPetrillo · 30/11/2014 19:56

I don't think I could hate a shoe more.

SophiaPetrillo · 30/11/2014 19:58

...to both pairs...

Fadingmemory · 30/11/2014 20:03

I wore shoes like that to school, albeit with lower heels, when I was 15. I am in my 60s.
