I bet he has beautiful long eyelashes too!

EduCated · 29/11/2014 20:19

YANBU. YANBU at all Envy

DillydollyRIP · 29/11/2014 20:19

So thick. Not fair! YADNBU to be jealous.

LaChatte · 29/11/2014 20:21

His eyelashes are ok actually, because he's blond they're not too long and dark that would just be beyond unfair!

I don't normally like long hair on boys but he has got amazing hair. It would be a crime to cut it short.

I would be very jealous too.

Tobyjugg · 29/11/2014 20:39

Any boy can have thick luxuriant hair at 12. Having it at 52 is the trick.

youbethemummylion · 29/11/2014 20:39

I would love to have hair like his! But how does he get on at school with it? Around here boys wouldn't be very accepting of that kind of hair style, which I know is very much their problem.

saintsandpoets · 29/11/2014 20:40

What a gorgeous colour!

Are you all blondies? I have the darkest darkest brown, and DH is a dirty blonde. Wondering what our dc will look like, is all!

Tobyjugg · 29/11/2014 20:53

yoube when I was at school (single sex) the boys with hair like that tended to be the real hard ones you did not mess with (sorry OP if I've shattered any illusions about your DS).

LaChatte · 29/11/2014 20:53

He started collège (yr6-9) in September, he still occasionally gets other kids coming up asking if he's a girl or a boy, so times it's mocking, other times it's genuine curiosity, in either case he's pretty cool about it and doesn't get offended. There's one other boy in the year above him who has long hair, but he wears it tied up, so it's quite uncommon here too, I think he likes the attention being different.

His dad has light brown hair and I'm a dark blond, not sure if his will stay quite that fair.

That's wonderful OP! I lovelong hair on both sexes.
It's obviously in the genes from his parents.

You shouldn't be jealous, but proud!

MammaTJ · 29/11/2014 21:21

Just shown this thread to my DD. She told me about her friend who is a lovely boy who had long hair, he had it cut for fear of ridicule!

I had talked to his mum in the midst of his decision and said his hair was glorious and they should leave it alone but he was too worried about reactions, that is sad!

Even more sad for those judged on their looks who cannot control them, like my DS with his droopy eyelid!

girliefriend · 29/11/2014 21:27

He had got beautiful hair Envy and your hair is gorgeous as well op Envy which hair products do you use?!

Does he not have to tie it up for school because of the risk of nits?!

LaChatte · 29/11/2014 21:31

We seem to repel nits! Neither of us have ever had them.

As for hair products, I use whatever's going shampoo wise, but I swear by Pantene conditioner, it's the only thing that gets the knots out easily, that and a Mason Pearson brush.

TheBuskersDog · 29/11/2014 21:40

Plenty of girls with long hair don't tie it up for school, don't know why people think it would be different for boys. When my son had long hair (longer than OP's son and curly) he never wore it fastened back except in science practical lessons when girls had to also.

Coumarin · 29/11/2014 22:05

In what way is your hair 'like straw'? Hmm

Most obvious stealth boast ever. Grin

Coumarin · 29/11/2014 22:05

Not even stealth tbh

CatLady25 · 29/11/2014 22:07

Do you mean she?

LemonBreeland · 29/11/2014 22:07

That plait is so thick!!

LaChatte · 29/11/2014 22:07

It's very fine! And bits stick out all over the place!

Coumarin · 29/11/2014 22:09

You obviously have very fancy straw where you live.
