Genetics is never simple, my friend's daughter looks sort of greek/mediteranian ish. Her (my friend's) grandchildren are fair haired with a mix of eye colours between them.

Not of which is unusual, until you meet my friend who is black. She says the one thing she never expected in life was to have a white child.

There is also a family joke that they 'are breeding the black out' as several of her nieces/nephews are also 'white', by which I mean they are white but are also mixed race if that makes sense.

OP If your ds every chooses to cut his hair can I ask that he donate it? But I don't think he should cut it.

It's admittedly a little unusual to see a boy with such a quality hairdo. Just think of all the hearts he'll break if he's good-looking too.

In my experience there are very few 12 year olds who would tolerate a hairstyle they didn't want! Plus what exactly is wrong with looking like a girl? Would you be as if a girl had a short, boyish hairstyle Marnia?

I don't think he really minds looking like a girl, or at least being androgenous, although from the front he's got quite a strong jaw, so would be a pretty masculin girl. In any case he's gorgeous I might be biased though

No no not a stealth boast on my part (it looks far better in the picture than in real life), totally a stealth boast about DS having fabulous hair though!

Of course he has the choice of how he has his hair, he always has (he had purple hair when he was six, and a Mohawk at four).

I would assume he doesn't mind marnia as I'm sure he would have asked to get it cut if he did. A 12 year old is perfectly capable of making their own decisions regarding their hair.

I'm a bit bemused too because you both have gobsmackingly beautiful hair, surely you know that!

I eat a huge amount of fruit and veg and drink lots of water too but haven't been able to have long hair for decades as it is too fine and just doesn't grow, so make the most of what you've got and stop making us all jealous! (p.s. this is said with a smile on my face I promise!)

Thank you for the compliments, my half looks fine in huh at photo, but in daylight you can see it really does go all over the place!

DS doesn't often wear it in a plat it was just to show the thickness of it.

I get a bit annoyed as my DH and my DM are always pestering him to get it cut short (although since DM started doing this, DH seems to have had a change of heart ), incidentally DH (not DS's biological father) is going bald and DM has very very thin hair, maybe they're just jealous too .

DD has just turned 5 (unfortunately she had her DF's hair) and has started to show an interest in playing with hair. So glad I won't have to buy one of those creepy heads!

A combo of ex and my hair, his thick and my blonde. He has a fringe and it down to his shoulder, he likes bring different but there are boys in his school with shaggy hair cuts so his isn't too different. He is year 2

I'm jealous of my son's hair too! Well, the colour of it. He has beautiful red hair, so bright and shiny. Would have loved to have had red hair!!

laChatte I'm complimenting btw. My posts look arsey reading them back. I was just expecting a pic of dry, split, dull hair so when your thick, shiny healthy locks showed up I was a bit bemused. You both have lovely hair

I don't know what you think is wrong with your own hair. If it's straw like, it doesn't show up in the pic you've chosen.
