To not get what the fuss is about Angelina Jolie

Apart from the fact that she sounds like those cartoon ballerinas Grin.

Never seen her in a film, 'cos the films she makes don't really appeal to me. Same with her husband, Mr Pitt I believe.

She's attractive, but in a normal sort of way.

She now says she doesn't want to be an actress anymore.

And is also sniffy about London "mansion tax", lol.

I'm just not getting the non-news about an averagely attractive actress truth be told.

I'm sure she's a fine person and good luck to her, but why she is on the news as if she was some latterday Mother Theresa, is beyond me.

OP posts:

I don't get how anyone can say she isn't that attractive. Her face is amazing, just truly, truly, exceptionally beautiful.

squoosh · 27/11/2014 15:09

Beauty is pretty subjective. She's undeniably attractive but I wouldn't say she (or her husband) is 'exceptionally beautiful'.

RoseCavallari · 27/11/2014 15:11

If she's average looking then I must be a total dog Grin

FollowTheStarship · 27/11/2014 15:37

She's not ugly, I just find her kind of cookie-cutter good-looking, in a way that doesn't make me think wow what a beautiful woman. Same with Brad, I'm just like meh, cookie-cutter film-star good-looking. I suppose to me to be really beautiful there has to be something more unique and quirky going on.

chockbic · 27/11/2014 15:40

She is stunning but she has had some plastic surgery.

I would never have teamed her up with Brad. He seems too clean cut.

TheLovelyBoots · 27/11/2014 15:40

I don't like her vampy look. I think she's very beautiful otherwise.

HellKitty · 27/11/2014 15:45

I'm straight and would totally do her Confused

It's Jennifer that gets on me tits.

squoosh · 27/11/2014 15:50

Poor Jennifer, inextricably linked to her ex husband and his wife.

Praise be to God for not being famous.

Lottapianos · 27/11/2014 15:53

People who don't think she's beautiful, can you give an example of someone you think is really beautiful?

And yes to poor Jennifer. I absolutely love her. She must be sick to the back teeth of having her name dragged into nearly everything to do with Brad and Angelina

I think she's beautiful. I think she is doing great things with the UN (that she doesn't need to and often for "unfashionable" causes), I thought her openess about the mastectomies was very admirable, she has won many awards (and earned lots of money) for her acting.

But I have just never warmed to her somehow and I don't know why. She certainly looked very thin and tired last week I thought but what do I know about her life?

However I certainly think the OP is odd - how do you know about her actingtalent if you've never watched her? And "average" looking? Really? I must be pig ugly then!

textingdisaster · 27/11/2014 16:11

She is beautiful but someone like Juliette Binoche is absolutely and totally very beautiful IMO.

I gave three - Jennifer Lawrence, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Lupita Nyong'o. I'm not holding them up as the most beautiful women in the world either, it's just they have something about them - quirky unusual features etc that make them stand out and to me that's what makes a beautiful face that I can't stop looking at.

Here are some more
Charlotte Rampling
Scarlett Johansson
Marion Cotillard
Aishwarya Rai

(Feel shallow now).

squoosh · 27/11/2014 16:14

Sadly poor Juliette proved to be a bit of a bore when she was on Graham Morton recently so she loses trois points for that. If someone shows themselves to be a bit dull it instantly makes them less attractive in my eyes.

Juliette will be devastated to hear this I'm sure!

FollowTheStarship · 27/11/2014 16:14

Oh yes Binoche! Gorgeous.

It's about a face that speaks of something and has personality and uniqueness.

But maybe this is just differences between people. Maybe for some the ultimate beauty is simply the ultimate symmetrical, chiselled perfection.

Sallystyle · 27/11/2014 16:16

She is beautiful, but at the time I often want to give her a wash.

However, she has done some amazing things and she is a great actress.

weebarra · 27/11/2014 16:18

As someone who has the BRCA gene and has had breast cancer, I think she has done a lot to raise awareness of the genetic links to BC, which has to be a good thing.

Nancy66 · 27/11/2014 16:19

I think Kristin Scott Thomas is beautiful. perhaps the difference is that she has character in her face which (to me) Angelina does not

textingdisaster · 27/11/2014 16:23

Kristin Scott Thomas was one of my other people. Also Emma Watson.

TheLovelyBoots · 27/11/2014 16:24

Well, I think everyone pales in comparison to Christy Turlington. My favorite model. Her face is architectural.

textingdisaster · 27/11/2014 16:26

How was Juliette Binoche a bore on Graham Norton squoosh? I suppose she might not have got his humour.

squoosh · 27/11/2014 16:27

I think I'm more likely to think of someone as being beautiful if I don't know the ins and outs of their personal life. Hearing about people's temper tantrums and relationship meltdowns kills the perfect illusion a bit.

DrownedReindeer · 27/11/2014 16:33

I'm currently watching Changeling :)

squoosh · 27/11/2014 16:34

That film is about an hour too long. I have that complaint with all of Clint Eastwood's films though.
